I remember one of the first times I heard this was during a school trip and we were driving through the wooded countryside and blabbering away like school kids do, then this came on the radio and everyone just fell silent for those few minutes. Afterwards there was a sort of collective sigh and someone said "ahh that was nice" then we all went back to chatting away like normal. It was just such a lovely little peaceful bubble in time within what was otherwise such a ruckus that for some reason is etched into my memory.

This makes me wanna think about life's mysteries, the books I've read, imagining a place with a couple sitting on a bench on autumn looking over a lake...This reminds me of the earth, I wanna protect it. This makes me wanna live life, take lots of photos and sceneries of this beautiful earth. I want a girl who can understand all of this. I want to cry. Edit 9/21: Still love this song. Just started as a freshie in uni! Missing my teenage days where I'd sneak the car out with my friends and watch the far sunset on the mountains. Loving life rn.

`eh that's just a lovely tune ... Lyrics: "Atlas Hands" Take me to the docks, there's a ship without a name there And it is sailing to the middle of the sea The water there is deeper than anything you've ever seen Jump right in and swim until you're free I will remember your face 'Cause I am still in love with that place But when the stars are the only things we share Will you be there? Money came like rain to your hands while you were waiting For that cold long promise to appear People in the churches started singing above their hands They say, "My God is a good God and He cares" I will remember your face 'Cause I am still in love with that place When the stars are the only things we share Will you be there? I've got a plan, I've got an atlas in my hands I'm gonna turn when I listen to the lessons I've learned I've got a plan, I've got an atlas in my hands I'm gonna turn when I listen to the lessons I've learned

@@maryam8538 That sounds great & all, but life isn't a movie. Not everyone gets a happy ending to their story. Some people are cursed & get shit on their entire lives. I haven't given up & I've made tons of positive changes over the last few years... yet I'm feeling more miserable & jaded than ever. The whole positivity thing is a B.S. form of confirmation bias...nobody cares(or remembers) the people who did everything right & still had a shitty miserable existence.

@@maryam8538 I genuinely appreciate the time/energy & thought you've put into your comments. And heck, these are all things I'd tell a friend(if I had any) or family member in distress...however, I've obviously heard all this before & the unfortunate *reality* is that none of it is true. I don't have value, god def doesn't love me, there is no bigger plan, and everything isn't going to be OK. I suffer everyday physically, mentally, & emotionally by myself. People that are normal enough just can't understand or fathom there are people as worthless as me. I'd have already ended it all...except that I believe suicide is a selfish, narcissistic, & cowardly act. With total respect towards you, I just know you cannot understand people like me. Sorry for the negativity but this is the reality I actually live in. 😔

A dear friend who's no longer with us showed me this song back in high school. It's taken a very special place in my life now, I don't listen to it often but when I do, it instantly floods me with memories. On a kind of "'meta" side-note, what's also nostalgic about this upload is looking at the number of video plays and knowing that some of those plays are from her and I from years ago!

This song came into my life When I first moved away from home to the east coast, it played again on the plane Ride to the prairies when i decided to pack my life up and go, Today my boyfriend and I decided to move to Vancouver and this song randomly played and I couldn't help but to start crying from joy. It just fitted perfectly with the moment.

All you young hearts wait until you are 61 and look at your life. I was blessed to live thru the 80's & all the magic-- legal ecstacy and the invasion of dance music with meaningful lyrics but still at 61 all you think about are all those you've lost. I lost several friends to AIDS, THE WHOLE WORLD WAS LIKE A ROLLER COASTER. But now when you are quiet with this song, all you remember are all the faces you miss...

I know it sounds ridiculous, nobody likes rats, but when my baby boy was passing from cancer, nothing seemed to make him feel better but this song. It will always be so important to me. 🥲 watching him suffer was the worst, no pain meds helped, but this song would have him peaceful and sleeping calmly in my arms every single time. RIP Floki. You were the goodest boy. 😔

dear person i’ve always loved, i still remember your face . you make me whole. without you, i feel like a ship wreck. sad, forgotten, broken. with you, i feel like the beach. flowing, growing, everchanging, healing, mesmerized. ever since i saw you i’ve gotten butterflies. you’ve been the thing i’ve been missing my whole life. you’re my other half. you may not be with me anymore, but i’m still in love with that place. will you be there with me? am i really your everything? because your my everything. you always will be. the times without you i felt broken and shattered. i feel wiser because of the lessons you’ve taught me i couldn’t have asked for more. from, me. i wish you could see this

I'm so glad after over 2 years I can listen to this song again! it became mine and my last boyfriends 'song'. He moved away to University, so when ever we were apart, we could look at the sky and know we shared the same stars. when we broke up, after 3 years, I could no longer listen to it. even the first note had me crying. But I can listen to it, and only hear the beautiful song again, and this makes me so happy. I genuinely missed this song!!
