Atlas Compressor: The Official Source Audio Demo
Музыка
The Atlas Compressor offers a comprehensive collection of compression circuits that perfectly capture the tone and feel of the industry’s most sought-after compressors. Straight out of the box, Atlas delivers six different styles of compression, ranging from classic stompbox compressors like the now-discontinued Diamond Optical Compressor to high-end rack units such as the snappy 1176 compressor and the smooth and gentle LA2A optical compressor. Atlas also features advanced dual-band compression, which provides an independent set of controls for both the high and low frequencies. Each compression engine has onboard controls for Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Output, Tone, and Mix, allowing for fine-tuned control over the compact One Series hardware.

This Company is SO SMART to have finally cracked the secondary function usage in a pedal. I have multiple high end pedals that you have to hold buttons to use secondary and with no idea what the function is without the manual. They have not only made a "momentary" secondary window here, but ALSO put an abbreviation of that it is next to function one's text. Its no secret Source Audio are geniuses. I own the Ventris also, it blows away my other big box reverbs. It is in a league of its own and lightyears ahead of everything.

Thanks for the positive words. We really appreciate it. And thanks for plugging into the Ventris!
I would love to see a demo of this pedal on synthesizers and drum machines. I think this would be excellent for someone's live hardware setup to have on the end of their chain. I think a lot of your customers are more than guitar players and would like to see demo's on more types of gear.

We actually made a few factory presets geared at synth and drum machines. There is an external side chain mode that is very nice on synths (available in compression, gate, and dynamic eq varieties). There's also one I did tailored for shaping snare samples, but which works for percussion in general. I may do a specific kick one as well or maybe Kick and Snare Dual mono.

I also, want to see this pedal wiorj with some eurorack units like endorphines or op-1 field. Thank you in advance. 😊☺️🤗
Just got a ATLAS and love this thing. Kicked my Cali76 off my bass board.
Thanks for taking the time and finally doing this!
Amazing!!!! Gotta get my hands on one of these. Great job Jesse and Roger!! Miss you guys.
Awesome compression overview and great product.
I can tell you guys are really passionate about this one and it shows. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these and see what it can do to a drum bus.
Yes! Yes! I was waiting for this! Almost bought a different one last month. But nothing on the market was quite what I was looking for! And now there is!
What's really sold me on this pedal is that through the Neuro editing app, you can do so much more with this pedal than just compression. Parametric and Graphic EQ (Both active at the same time!) Noise Gate. A whole host of compressor presets and variables to tweak. Oh yeah, it also buffers. Oh yeah, stereo input/output. This thing is beautiful.
The Zio & now this - you guys are killing it on the "essential", staple effects. Bravo, Source Audio. I could spend years - and many, many dollars exploring compression - but now i can save on the latter and focus on the former.

Hello source Audio. I am a huge fan of the 1990's compressors which are Ibanez CP10 and the Boss CS-2. They are magical. And sound better than most newer comps such as the CS-3 for example. Does this have anything to do with their analog circuitry? I'm afraid of ditching them for a digital compressor. Which algorithm of yours would you suggest to replace those? Edit: I'm a guitar player btw

Yes, the Atlas can get a sound like the CS-2. The CS-2 is a VCA style compressor and that is one of the compressor options in the Neuro Editor. We don't have a specific CS-2 based preset yet, but it is on Christopher Venter's list of future sounds, so I would say that it will show up in our list of Factory Presets within the month. For the time being, you might try the Atlas' Studio Snap compressor - that one lives in the STUDIO toggle switch position in the first bank of presets (Green LED). Studio Snap is a VCA style compressor with a very snappy attack.
Am I going to have to build a board using 100% SA pedals? Seems like a good idea.

That's what I'm doing. Just scored the Programmable EQ to go with my LA Lady, Gemini Chorus, Vertigo Tremolo, and Nemesis Delay. With a decent MIDI controller it's shaping up as an incredibly versatile grab n go board.

I did. Zio, Atlas, EQ2, Gemini, Nemesis, Ventris, Vertigo. Resistance is futile.
Are there any challenges one can expect in using this pedal with a radial extc to convert to line level for vocals, synth, etc?
What would be a good Compressor style for a looper that has drums and guitars?
how does it sound on synths or a master bus or on a drum machine?
How do you connect to the nuro app when my headphone jack is USB? I have the true spring being delivered any day now and I'd love to take advantage of the app

You can use an adapter. iPhones work with the Lightening to 1/8 headphone jack adapter. You can also use the Desktop Editor with a mini USB cable.
I never thought too much about Source Audio previously, other than Adrian Belew and Reeves Gabrel use their stuff. I bought a Vertigo based on some demo videos (I normally ignore demo videos - digital compression/Mp3, PC speakers, recording done with expensive mics, amps and DAWs, what are we actually hearing?). After getting the Vertigo, I was *sold* on SA. The Atlas was next on my list, along with the Gemini and Nemesis. Nemesis is a terrible name, though. Couldn't they have come up with something else? Why would I want to buy a Nemesis? Khan!!! Then there's the ZIO - very interested, but holy cow is that expensive. You can't have a compressor pedal without an Orange Squeeze, Ross and Dyna Comp. So many people in this video with nice beards. Unless you're the president, do you have to be bearded to work for Source Audio?

Nemesis is a hypothetical red dwarf or brown dwarf, originally postulated in 1984 to be orbiting the Sun at a distance of about 95,000 AU (1.5 light-years), Its not the same Nemesis you are thinking of :)
how well does this work for synthesizers??
@christopherventer6391
2 жыл бұрын
Very well! We have an external side chain mode as well for triggering the compressor with an external input such as a kick or snare from sequencers. You can also filter a whole kit sample to just the low end using the side chain low pass filter, if you don't have isolated tracks to feed into Input 2.

With a USB-MIDI host like midi ghost, or even most of the newer disaster area midi controllers if you're planning to have just one. If you want to control multiple source audio pedals, then Neuro hub will be the better alternative.

Not a fan of shared knobs. Make one with dedicated. Good work though
Where “boss cs-2” preset? 😢
@sourceaudioeffects

We are working on CS-2 preset. Atlas does do VCA compression, so it's within the pedal's capabilities. We're hoping to get a CS-2 sound in the Factory Presets list very soon.
Very nice, although it has the dreaded side jacks. Le sigh.
