Thanks for this. I think the Baha Mar will work better for us with two 11-year olds as I know they'll love that water park. And really hoping we can still get that free daily breakfast if we book through Emily.

This was super long, but so appreciated, plus I could use the transcript to skip ahead as needed. While id love to go to atlantis, day pass is $250 for when im going (yes spring break!), so i mainly set my eyes on baja at the lower (tho still expensive) baha price of 160. Plus, I will have a 13 yo, so ur comments about lids was soooo helpful! And we will be on a cruise boat, so no need to really compare the resort rooms, etc.THANKS SO MUCH😅❤

Thank you! Sorry I'm not one for brevity 😅Definitely for a 13yo BahaMar would be the way to go for that waterpark!

@@jaimee-kate you are definitely the first person to make this very important distinction about age preferences btw the parks (and I've obviously seen many you tube videos by now in my research!). It sure seemed from the pics/videos like Atlantis also has some big tall slides and so much to offer considering the large space that would totally also be for teens/adults, so I'm definitely surprised to hear your impression but again, super glad to know! And I know that for THAT hefty price, I would be livid if not ready to file lawsuits (lol) if I had gone there without having this info!!

I was at Baha Mar in November and visited the Atlantis. At the Atlantis, beach access was only allowed for hotel guests; at the Baha Mar, anyone could access the beach. Yes, the restaurants were all mostly closed, which made me feel a bit duped about choosing the Baha Mar.

Interesting! Sorry to hear the restaurants were still closed, I was thinking (hoping) it was just because I was there in a shoulder season. As for the beach -- yes I think where Atlantis sits on the island it, it owns a massive piece of land so it is more guests only (though I know that cruises that stop there have guests that can use the beaches), whereas BahaMar is closer to other properties and you can walk down the beach, but I do not believe non-guests are allowed to use the chairs/facilities, but I'm not 100% sure.

@@jaimee-kate It can get a bit confusing over there. When I was staying at Baha Mar, I could access the beach from Baha Mar property and walk along the beach (e.g., towards Atlantis) as far as I wanted. But if I tried to use the walking path just above the beach, they checked wristbands and only allowed folks who were staying at the next private hotel. Apparently, the beaches are all considered public property, but the access points from above are mostly private and restricted.

@@La__Rat I think the reason they were still closed when I was there was because booking were still not up enough after Covid, but it might be better now.

@@La__Rat Hi! I'm not sure how things are now, but as of when I went in October, I believe it was due to closures from COVID and then restaffing issues, but I'm not sure. I hope things are open now for you!

Just my opinion, at Atlantis, reserve a cabana as often as you can. It makes things much easier
