To celebrate 40 years of ghosts and ghost busting, the Los Angeles Ghostbusters have called on the community to help them put together a video compilation of various franchises strutting their stuff just like the OGBs did in Ray Parker Jr.'s "Ghostbusters" music video. The Circle City Ghostbusters of Indianapolis tagged us and challenged us to take part.
We asked ourselves "how can we do this with some style?"
The answer? We'll shoot on location in the exact spot where Ray Parker Jr., Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson all kicked their boots in New York City's world-famous Times Square.
After that, well, it kind of took on a life of it's own.
Welcome to Ghostbusters Day 2024! The 40th anniversary of our favorite media franchise! The theme was performed live on-site at the Ghostbusters HQ (historic Hook & Ladder 8 in Tribeca) before hundreds, maybe even thousands of cheering fans by the Alessi Brothers, whose iconic single "Savin' the Day" was also featured in the film.
All footage was taken between June 7th and 8th amongst our fellow fans from around the globe.
Thanks go out to the NYC Ghostbusters, the Buffalo Ghostbusters, Hook & Ladder 8, and the Alessi Brothers for helping make this event a reality.
