This is EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW (AS FAR AS BIOLOGY) FOR THE TEAS 7 EXCEPT, "Micro-organisms + microbes/ Infectious disease".
I haven't done a video on that topic.

    *PLEASE READ* Hey guys! During transcription (5:40) I mentioned "RNA POLYMERASE UNZIPS THE DNA STRANDS" THIS IS TRUE. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO SOME LITERATURE, THE PROTEIN "HELICASE" UNZIPS THE DNA. ATI SAYS HELICASE "UNZIPS" DNA, NOT POLYMERASE. PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THAT BECAUSE IF YOU GET A QUESTION ON THE EXAM THAT ASKS "which of the following "unzips" the DNA strands? HELICASE is the answer.

These videos are just re-doing a few old topics I already did and making improvements on them (visually). After that, sometime April I'll start with Anatomy + Physiology. @thetutor_geek Hi can you clarify what you meant, when you were going over the base pairs I was a little confused when you said in 7:18 "What nucleotide base pairs with T in RNA'' when I going over to look at the base pair for thymine I saw that thymine was only found in DNA but, you said RNA so I was a little confused. Can you explain?

  • @thetutor_geek

    @thetutor_geek

    10 ай бұрын

    Hi! Yes this is a tricky concept. The blue template strand has DNA base pairs and the Purple mRNA strand has RNA base pairs... Thymine is replaced with Uracil in RNA and the pair to Uracil is Adenine...maybe it would have been more helpful if i would have said "what pairs with Uracil in rna" instead of "what pairs with thymine in rna"..... I hope this helps. this concept is not easy and student often have to look at it over and over again...Please let me know if there is a way I can clarify more.

    So for amino acids in a protein, we should remember 21 amino acids and 9 essential acids correct? Well what I mean is just know that there are 21 amino acids and 9 of them are essentials. Also, I'm curious, I already mainly covered the chemistry section and the biology videos from you. For Anatomy & Physiology, what have students said about that section? From feedback, what are usually the most important sections I should focus for A&P? I know it's best to try studying them all but I just want to know which ones I should prioritize first.

    Polygenic inheritance is where one character is controlled/influenced by more than one gene/locus. It's kind of quantitative inheritance i.e there's a range of traits (Dominant most to recessive most) instead of only two as in case of monogenic inheritance. And more the number of dominant alleles the trait will be more towards the dominant most extremity. Same is true for the recessive alleles. Say for example, body complexion is controlled by 3 genes A, B & C; here, AABBCC genotype will produce the darkest complexion and aabbcc will produce the fairest. But many intermediate complexions are possible in between the two extremities based on the permutations & combinations of A,a & B,b & C,c.
