This is a DIY video guiding you on how you can clean and grease both the belts in Ather. Make sure you take utmost care while removing the body panels. Don't tamper with the battery, motor, controller, wiring etc.

⚠️⚠️ Guys, this is something that we didn't at our own risk. This is not recommended by Ather. It's better to take the vehicle to your respective service centre and do the belt greasing. Make sure you don't tamper with the battery, motor, controller or the wiring. Anyways, if you are far away from the service centre, you can try this. But, ONLY AT YOUR OWN RISK !! ⚠️⚠️

is this lithium grease or silicon grease as lithium grease is not recommended to use with rubber ??

This is just general purpose grease from Castrol. By the way, the belt is not rubber. It's either Kevlar or Teflon. Someone said it's synthetic carbon.

Hope in next model, they will move to Hub motor. Chain motor is now an outdated model and stopped using in most of the electrical appliances.

First of all, this is not chain drive. This is belt driven. Even, Harley Davidson use belt drives. Belt driven is better than Hub motors. Hub motors are very torquey and isn't that well refined. They are also more susceptible to damage in Indian road conditions.
