Moving Cities is a cross-cultural initiative that manifests into a collection of short films using dance to present the now of cities. The films ex- plore the marriage of people and city, observing a synthesis between us and the mechanised world. Jevan will work in Athens for one week capturing some of the most exciting Greek dance talent on camera. He hopes to fuse the classical, contem- porary and traditional art forms into one Greek voice showing the peoples human and emotional connection with the global city of Athens.
AVDP Team, by collaborating with Jevan, a won- derful production team of STEFI, the woofs, al- most 40 extraordinary professional dancers of the greek dance community, will give life to Moving Athens. AVDP decided to co-produce this ongoing project in order to support Jevan’s goal : to film 15 cities of interest and to culminate these into a single art installation. In addition, since AVDP.edu program is always interested in stimulating educa- tionally the local community and the youngsters, a shooting map with all the scheduled details of the locations and timetables will be provided in the official festival web site, to welcome all those who might be interested to show up in the spots during the shootings!
