I just got home from my trip to Greece and the public transport is very efficient. But be careful with your belongings because i literally saw how little kids (around 8 or 10 years old) tried to steal from the backpack of a woman and an old man in different occasions. So always keep an eye on your things. Also, people are very clever there and when you put the ticket in the machine and the door opens, people will follow you. That caught me off guard and I literally saw how 5 people came through the door with my ticket. Athens definetly needs more security! Overrall it's a very good experience, but be awhare of the things that i mentioned.

One idea for a video would be to talk about the Greek holidays and festivals in Athens throughout the year and maybe the pros/cons of each season. Thanks for sharing such valuable info. :) Erikka

Thanks for all of this practical information! I am an American, but have been living in Poland for the past 10 years. Next month I will be meeting 3 of my friends from the US in Athens. We will arrive at the airport there within just a couple of hours of one another. Then we will travel together to our rented apartment or hotel. After a couple of days in Athens we will then leave on a 7 day cruise of the Greek Isles. The information in this video is super helpful and I forwarded it to my travel companions.

For those who want to avoid the 9EUR metro fare from the airport: The increased fare only applies for the leg between airport and the next station, called Koropi. If you board the metro at Koropi, the regular 1.20EUR fare applies. So you might feel tempted to walk the distance from the airport to Koropi. Be warned that is not possible; there is no walkable path, it's all multi-lane roads without any space left for pedestrians, and it's quite a long distance anyway. But there is another option: Take a bus from the airport to Koropi metro station. Be warned it's NOT one of the buses that go into the city centre which most tourists use, those are recognizable by line numbers beginning with an X. It is a regional bus run by KTEL Attiki which goes to Rafina. The bus stop is downstairs from the entrance of the walkway that connects to the metro station, next to the Sofitel. Ask the drivers which one goes to Rafina, and tell them you want to go to Koropi metro stop. The regional bus costs 2EUR extra, but overall you save 6EUR.

what is bro saying i live in athens and bro says that you don't know when the bus is going to arrive there are literally in every stop there is a machine that says the time from every bus that stops at that stop and second there is an app that tells you when the bus is starting when its finishing the route and also is says the stops so you can press the stop that you are and it says the time it will arrive and not just that bus every bus that stops in that stop and it also saws to you the location of the bus that you want to get and that app is called OASA telematics

I was in Athens three weeks ago for one week. I used taxi around 15 times. Almost all of the Taxi drivers were friendly and honest. I've been scammed two times. Both were Gypsy taxi drivers. One drop me to Monastraki when I wanted go Psirri and double charged me (10 euro). Other one took me from Omnion to Olympion Temple for 25 euros, which I believe 5 times more expensive. Never trust Gypsy taxi drivers and always ask for taximetre. Athens is a beatiful and extremly safe city just be careful about this classic taxi scames.
