@@hishamzireeni8932 I’m hoping to have a video on this out soon, but there are a few ways. One it to utilise the Chroma Keyer with something like OBS or GFX software that can output against a green background like H2R Graphics. Others like to use Pre-Rendered graphics with a Hyperdeck Studio to use the Key and Fill outputs from that into the ATEM. In also have a few others ways that I have discovered and am hoping to do a video on this soon. I’m still testing currently :)

Hello Thanks for this video ! On your channel you describe many workaround to use Atem mini xxx for Live Streaming like Twitch (Live Chat Integration, StreamDeck for macros, videos stingers, etc.) Would you recommend Atem mini against OBS+capture card for non-gaming/gaming live Streaming ? Or would it be a frustrating experience ? I mean : 1) with OBS : "everything" is possible but uses PC resources and needs (in my case) 3 HDMI inputs => $500 capture card + Streamdeck 2) with Atem mini extreme : need workarounds to forget OBS, but very reliable, no more Stream Deck with 6 macros keys (ok 6 is quite low)

I read in the updated manual that you can't solo tracks via headphone out on the Mini extreme. Thoughts? I'm worried the headphone out will be quite limited with routing capabilities.

Hello ! Do you know what is the minimum speed of the SSD disk to record on the ISO ? Do you think the samsung T5 would be enough ?

@@losaltospolitico1 Yes, in Belgium. I wasn’t expecting it so soon either, but I got a call from my distributor that it had already been delivered. I can’t wait to play around with it.

Thanks. Your video son the ATEM Mini Pro ISO really helped me take the plunge. I'm just amazed at the pace of progress and will be seriously thinking of upgrading to the the EXTREME ISO. BTW I discovered that you can connect two SSDs to the ATEM Mini Pro ISO using a USB-C to USB3.1 Gen 2 hub (e.g. StarTech's UCB-C to 4x USBA 10Gbps hub with 2x Samsung T5 drives - and it will switch from one disk to the other as the first becomes full). I've yet to work out if the same technique can be use with OTG mode to make it possible to use webcam mode at the same time - but there's probably an issue with the computer and switch wanting to use the SSDs at the same time).

What I needed Ordered I got a mini first, and since I already had over eight cameras from doing wedding video started thinking about it and ran that into another ATM mini pro I got. Wanted to set this all up in a band studio for obvious streaming reasons as well as use in the future for weddings etc. this is exactly what I need! And for those of you that don’t know strata pro also recently updated their software app for controlling the black magic Atem I’ve been using it prior and now they’ve got an actual preset for such! This super helps me as the actual black magic units are across the room in the studio and I am playing keyboards singing lead vocals and harmony as well as controlling the lights and running the sound now also live 8 camera video production from iPad! Really do love it I was always doing overkill and did 8 to 10 cameras at all weddings... and was getting into shooting 360 video for the band... This is really going to be fun! Got a green screen for Christmas! Love to be able to afford black magic cameras😬🎤🎹🎸🥁🔊 Thx so much for all your help! Any advice in the future for how one could slowly get into purchasing may be the lower end for using which black magic cameras for live concert and/or wedding video streaming would be much appreciated? mine are a accumulation of many different video cameras as well as regular cameras & 360 and I use final cut!

Hi Alex, I have a question. My Extreme just arrived and it's great, got everything up and running quickly. But the options for colour bars seems to have gone. It's no longer assigned to a source button (although there is a button for it on the Select Bus). I used to have this set as my startup state because it's a quick and easy way to see everything is working when you power up. Is there a way to assign the bars to a button?

Hey Higgypop, mine hasn't arrived yet, so I can't be sure, but all software buttons should be configurable within the settings of the ATEM Software Control. Go up to the menu bar with the software open, and click on preferences, then navigate to the button mapping page :) You should be able to make changes in there :)

I bought this he ATEM mini pro iso a few months ago. Love it, still learning it. I agree with you about NDI support. Keep my existing ATEM and upgrade later in the year for ISO. Looking forward to your other videos on production flow!

Just got the iso pro, and it's already obsolete😭😭

Excellent video- thanks and the new devices look incredible. I can’t help but think that there are lots of people like me that only have 3 or 4 cams/sources, but really could use the dual usb c connections (one for cell phone streaming and the other for ISO SSD files) and dual HDMI outs. I also like the small form factor of the old ATEM MINI PRO ISO. Maybe an updated version ATEM MINI PRO ISO - version 2 with the form factor as the old model + 2 usb and 2 hdmi?

Great presentation Alex! did you know the HDMI cable Brand that Blackmagic (Grant) uses everytime he connects Atems on the desk? im pretty sure are the same cables that uses in BM atem brochures/ads... they look good quality, and he risks connecting live and everytime works!! want those cables!!

My extreme arrived yesterday. Really impressed although a bit of a learning curve from my mini pro.

I’ve been using the highest end switchers for 20 years... I’m blown away. Methinks I’d add fibre or SDI interface to finish off the system.

Great video …. Alas I can’t see why they can’t have mp4 files in the media player for stings or animations

I think if so many features are added to just small device and we use them all together like 8 camera inputs recroding in iso plus streaming plus supersource plus macros and a webcam dont u think it will overheat or start loosing frames?

I just cancelled my order. I’d like to master the advanced features of my Pro ISO before jumping into this one.

So I'm assuming, if we were to use this for a conference, that we could use the HDMI outputs to throw different content up on two individually switched projector screens, use the ethernet out to live broadcast, and still record to hard disc using the second USB-C port? Hello alex As ur suggestions we have purchased atem mini extreme for our temple. we use bmpcc 6k camera. We set recording at 1080. But when we connect the bmpcc 6k with atem extreme the recording settings of camera will automatically goes to 6k resolution. How can we adjust the camera recording settings aalways to 1080. Waiting for ur reply. You are the best guide for bmd products. Really Appreciate ur work.

NDI addition would be good. NDI seems very expensive but maybe BMD will disrupt that market by selling convertors from HDMI (or SDI) to NDI at similar prices to their mini convertors.

Thanks for this overview about the new features, i ordered the ISO Extreme last week and i'm looking forward to work with it - since i already use the Mini Pro and Mini Pro ISO i don't think there is a benefit of combining those two with the Extreme Model except having more sources which i doubt is necessary ...

How would you get 4 feeds if people are in different locations? Where is your super source video? I couldnt find it.

Missing a camera zoom button for those having power zoom lenses with BMPCC 4K/6K, anyone found a workaround, maybe with the macro buttons?

Sorry if you already covered and I missed it - but did BM explain if the audio monitoring jack will be customizable? My scenario is that I’ll be producing events where my talents would like to be able to listen to some channels (remote guests and pre-recorded videos), but not hearing themselves. It’s be very convenient setting this up directly through the Atem.

Thanks for addressing this Q in the video! I’m about to pick up my Extreme tomorrow but was checking the manual - and as far as I understood it unfortunately seems as this isn’t available for Extreme but only for Broadcast studio. But I’m a noob so might have misunderstood did u get a chance to verify this yet?

This was great! - 2 questions... I am a premiere pro cc user - 1. do you think the Davinci file could be used in premiere? Is there a conversion process to think about?... AND 2 - Is there a live cam setup that could be done in premiere, to just skip the hard drive transfer of files, and push it directly into an editing program instead? - Thanks again! Great explanation!

NDI and Browser source are NOT coming NDI because it's licensed by newtek which are a competitor to blackmagic browser source because it is way too complicated to keep secure (and would require updates every week...)

Hi Alex, love your YT content. Question about the Extreme, which I own. The PIP buttons and the Key1 button are both linked to KEY1, so I cannot use them at the same time. How can I change the PIP (DVE) to KEY 2 or KEY 3? I like these buttons and don't want top make macro's for that. Thanx for your quick answer

I'm currently a VMIX user, and I like it because of the ability to bring in video inserts and onscreen graphics built in. What kind of solutions are you using for bringing in animated graphics and inserting external videos into your production?

I wanted the two HDMI outs so I can feed one to my LiveU Solo. I feel for situations like this it is better to have my PGM going to HDMI out 2 so I can easily switch from M/V to different camera angles on HDMI out 1 if I want to check something full size on my screen.

This looks amazing, but I wish they would have just added a second usb port to the smaller form factor. I know it is still mini by comparison, but now its too big for my mobile setup.

Why the hell didn't they add video playback in the media player?

Yes, I believe this to be correct too. As far as I can see, Zoom is still controlled through software only. I can see that it makes sense, as with Zoom you need precision, which you can't quite get with up/down buttons

@@AlexPettitt Many thanks for getting back! Yes, the precision would indeed be difficult to achieve through those buttons, I am sure. But maybe there might be solutions for that in future? From a practical point of view I would find it much more important to find such a 'button solution' for the Zoom instead of the other camera parameters. For me, while shooting, it is more likely that the Zoom of a camera that needs to be changed on the go. And instead of having to go into the software control panel for that it would be really great to do so with physical buttons on the controller. Parameters such as ISO will more likely be worked on before actually shooting, so the buttons don't really make so much of an advantage from a practical perspective, in my opinion..

There is a problem with Select Bus Buttons on ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. I use ATEM Software Control for setting Palettes like Luma. Chroma, Pattern & DVE and use ATEM Mini Extreme ISO Select Bus to apply these effect during live production. But the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO buttons dose not change to Red during ON AIR, If require I will send XML for reference, please advice.

Hi, i plan on purchasing the Atem mini extreme iso, i was hoping to use the recording feature for live streams and video recordings using my two cannon XC-15s. Will it be Able to do that? Or will i have to purchase black magic cameras?

So if i would have something like the birddog ptz keyboard (and a birddog camera as well as other cameras linked via ndi), woul i use the atem mini extreme for webstreaming and recording the different cameras? Or can i do all this in ovs or in the ptz keyboard itself?

To record with ISO, is this done only using black magic cameras of you can record other cameras such as Cannon M50s?

Thank you for your channel. Great content. On the ATEM Mini Extreme, is there a way to configure the multi view (or some other output method) such that the connected HDMI monitor is filled with the PROGRAM with audio levels visible? You can press a button on the ATEM Mini Extreme and tell the multi view port to output the PROGRAM. That's good, but it doesn't have the audio levels on it. When I'm running a show, I need to setup a large monitor with the PROGRAM and the audio levels. Is this feasible?

Hi Alex, found your channel about a week ago and watched all your mini playlist, but still managing to confuse myself lol. Your videos are epic btw, thank you so much for doing them. On one of your videos I am sure you gave an email to enquire about 1:1 coaching on the mini, but I can't for the life of me find it now. I hope you don't mind me asking here. I am a startup wedding videographer and have been asked about live streaming ceremonies and have two potential clients already. I have been down some major rabbit holes trying to work out the best solutions and keep coming back to the LiveU Solo for a bonded connection, but given that it only has one HDMI or SDI input cannot get my head round how I would use the Atem Mini Pro to not only send the program view to the Solo, but also be able to see the multi view on another screen and/or my laptop. I am pretty certain that I will only ever need to stream to one platform, but was also thinking of guest interaction options using Zoom. I've also looked at using my laptop for the stream using OBS and something like speedify to bond internet connection from venue wifi/ethernet, a mobile 4G router and my phone. My budget is about 2k to get everything I need including all the cabling to my 3 cameras. Would ideally like to be able to give couples a usb drive with their ceremony recording on it straight after too. Sorry this is such a big post and appreciate if you prefer to charge for such consultation/advice. Many thanks James

Hey Rolf, I'm really glad to hear the videos have been useful. To answer your question, unfortunately talkback isn't a function built into the ATEM Mini line, its mainly reserved for BM's SDI based workflows as they send the talkback feeds down channels 15&16 of the SDI. There are a number of different talkback options out there though, some more expensive than others :)

which boom arm are you using for you RODE mike, I can't find one that fits?

Hey Masten, simple answer is not really. You could feed 4 of your inputs into your existing ISO, and then that the HDMI output from that into one of your inputs on the Extreme, that will give you 4 ISO’s, but will mean you have to do switching on the PRO ISO. Honestly, my advise would be to send the extra money and try to sell your existing device if you want the extreme :). hope this helps

Is there a minimum (GPU) or operation System for Windows for the Atem Mini Pro ISO. Can I use a small Celeron Laptop for my Streams? I use the Atem Mini Pro ISO with OBS and I stream to KZread. I had a ASUS Rog7 i7 8th Gen, but with all the off site streaming, the Laptop fell and broke... so If I can get a smaller less expensive Laptop for the streaming, that would be great. On Black Magic website I can only find that you need Windows 10 64bit...

Remembering the difficulties that the Pro ISO had with the Samsung T7 and the SanDisk Extreme Gen 2, I'm really looking forward to hearing about what kind of disk it's going to take to record all 9+ files. I hoping that turning off record of some of the inputs will be an option.

Absolutely! Lets imagine 9 Hyperdeck High files = 9x 70 Mbps = 630Mbps + headroom from the WAV files & DaVinci file. Luckily we're talking megabits here and not megabytes....so most good SSD's should be able to handle that nicely!

​@@AlexPettitt Oh... it's Mbps not MB/s. So... the Gen 1 Extreme's 550M*B*/s is MUCH better than the bare minimum 630M*b*ps?

With all of the extra inputs and media now associated with the ISO Extreme, will you originally-recommend SSDs (540 MB’s) be enough or do I need to upgrade to the San disk Gen 2?

Is there a way to record just specific cameras?

Can you use this to record shows/movies on Netflix, HBO, Hulu etc ..?

Can you change the shape of PIP frame, for example , into a rounded corner frame, or into a Hexagon shape frame if you like?

Is it possible to connect 2 cameras to the ATEM Mini and have them as separated sources on Streamlabs OBS to make a split screen with those 2 cameras?

Still no video in the media player. That sucks. I am sick of losing an input to cut to ads.

Any idea if the extreme will play nice with a 5k monitor? currently, plugging the atem mini into hdmi on my mac mini immediately downgrades the resolution of my main 5k monitor - even tho it's connected via usb C - i've not been able to find any way around this and it's really frustrating?

Does the stem mini extreme allow one nitrate for live streaming and another for recording higher nitrate to SSD?

Why when I stream with to KZread with the Atem mini pro I get the following message, “Please check the video resolution. The current resolution 1920x1080, which is not optimal. Thanks.

Do you think an LTE USB stick would work as a tethering device? I could imagine using a Huawei E3372 together with a roof antenna to make the connection more reliable in remote locations.

Does the ISO record the combined camera/background when using the advanced keyer function on that input

Use it as a secondary mixer to your Extreme, giving you three extra inputs in total or just as a backup onset in case something happens to your main mixer.

Which version of Resolve is required?

Can you use the Davinci Resolve files in Premiere Pro? I don't use Davinci Resolve, but Premiere Pro.
