Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 1997
Original Soundtrack. Designed by Gianni Versace.
This show is a blissful and serene fever dream, from the girls aimlessly shoulder-tapping, Kristen McMenamys robotic poses and plank-of-wood walk, and Stella & Kirsty Hume tripping, to the track and the closing choice, 90% iconic 10% chaos.
Elements of this collection pushed the Atelier into the modern, with obvious and very clear Spanish inspiration, the beginning black looks and beaded & lace-edged monochrome separates afterward were standouts amongst some of the more dated gowns. The tights in the beginning (which are red and hard to see) are also beaded. Elegant Bejeweled bows as embellishment were counterbalanced with odd and misplaced circle and square beaded motifs seemingly sewn in at random points on vibrant cashmere cardigans. Success returns when playing with sheer layering and beading on a variety of gowns starting at the midpoint of the show. Finale gowns are relevant right now, specifically the crazily patterned/beaded gowns right before the “wedding finale.”
They fit into a niche-category of “ugly” which many people are fond of given the trending of crazy 90s and early y2k patterns.

I was multitasking making the first version of this and I failed to notice pop-ups in the corner and bad audio editing, so I fixed that to be better hopefully. Enjoy
Thank you so much
