San explained he had to change the way he sang when his vocal cords started bleeding. He was singing too high ( and maybe had the wrong technique) and changed to a lower tone so he said he couldn't sing their old songs the way he used to. Keep the Ateez reactions coming. Thanks.

@@leadan5170 he also had c*vid twice so i think he made the best executive decision he could. my range changed dramatically after the first time (had it twice, my range is slightly lower now) and i honestly thought i was done singing for good! im happy he can still perform 🤧

After having Covid double pneumonia, my range is a touch lower, but I developed essential tremors in my hands (similar to Yeosang)--the funny thing is it also hit my voice. At first, I thought I was done singing because I couldn't control the tremor at all. I sounded completely unstable. It took a lot of work, but I progressed through a stage where every note had vibrato to where I am now--I can hold notes steady but when I use vibrato the speed is faster than before. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. ❤

@@flaggov6949 you're welcome! i hope you're doing better now and are as healthy as you can be in the circumstances 🖤 it feels isolating and "crazy" when the majority of people act like its "the flv" and like the before and after are imagined differences. i've been singing my whole life, was in an award-winning camarata, and when i tried to sing along to a simple tune and couldn't, i cried and thought that part of my life was over forever. it took a literal year before i could sing along to a song for a full 3 minutes without feeling like i was risking permanent damage. lets pray/hope san and hongjoong (he had it once) remain as healthy as possible, too! and the other members as well 🖤

yunho's vocals are criminally underrated, and i LOVE when he and Yeosang sing together like their part in Turbulence

ive been saying this since they were in kingdom there is no male singer in kpop who does falsettos as clean as san's and im so glad you noticed that too!

Finally someone mentions San in Kingdom, that was the first time I heard Ateez and I fell in love with: I just wanna make you groove!! and from there he is my bias, I had not heard a falsetto as beautiful as that.

Whatever jongho is doing he needs to keep doing it …. He’ll literally become a prominent Kpop top vocalist

One thing I love about Ateez is - here we are - going into 6 years after debut, and you can tell they still PREPARE for each project with thoughtfulness & intention. They're not just singing these well known songs in a standard, typical, "good" way. They want it to be interesting content, adding effort bc they value the channel & staffs time. They're thinking of Atiny. And people new to them. (Whether for Coachella crowds, or k-variety show lovers.) They're still hungry & appreciative, so won't just settle on good enough. They want people to see they're growing & truly working at evolving as artists. Sooo rare.

Everyone was incredible (as always) but yunho and seonghwa really stood out to me, they were soo amazing. Honestly, what a talented and well rounded group.

they literally worked jongho out, doing high notes back to back and he still ate all those notes up, this man 👏👏 also he looks so damn goood

what's also different with jongho here is he keeps his eyes closed when belting as opposed to that death stare when they perform in shows i feel like that helps give a little more soul a little more flavor and passion

I took one of my best friends with me to see Ateez last year and her jaw was on the floor every single time Jongho opened his mouth. We couldn’t stop talking about it 😂 just absolutely spectacular.

It IS my favorite Killing Voice of Kpop Male Groups!!!!! I f**kιη loved it!!!!!!!!!

This quickly skyrocketed to my top Killing Voices ever. Not every group does so many adlibs and harmonies live like this, especially not groups that are considered "performance groups" like ATEEZ. You can clearly hear how much they all improved, especially Jongho. And SEONGWA ABSOLUTELY BLEW ME AWAY.

Seonghwa’s vocals are so underrated…his singing conveys emotion so well ❤❤

Jongho Vocal King. A lot of people complain that Jongho is only Hight Notes but here he demostrate he can sing in all ranges, particulaty in the las album. He do not any Hight Notes and he sound heavenly

I always appreciate your honesty, even if I don’t always agree 🤣 We need to normalize the fact that you don’t have to like every song by a group/artist to be a fan. This was an amazing Killing Voice and by far my favorite.

I cried when they sang Turbulence. My goosebumps got goosebumps when Guerrilla started. I bow when The real ended. Ateez is the reason why I'm into kpop now. And this is definitive the reason. I've been into korean culture for a long time, I think I watched every kdrama from 2013 to 2020, I watched and rewatched many variety shows and many korean movies, I've been reading korean comics (webtoons/manhwa) since the pandemy, I started reading also many korean webnovels. BUT, KPOP was the only aspect of korean culture that I tried to avoid, but because of a fcking "Hakuna Matata" I discovered ATEEZ and they captured me. THANXX ATEEEZ.

Bahah, you know what? I understand your thoughts on the album. I know they said they were nervous about how experimental it was but even as an atiny, it took me a few listens before I started fully enjoying it . But to be fair, I'm not musically in tune like you are and I'm just here for the vibes lmao I do appreciate them trying new things (a latin influence when the rest of kpop is in their dollar store afrobeat era atm🫢😭? Come on). Onto Killing Voice, I love how everyone got space to shine and you can HEAR the differences in their voices and techniques.. but I would have actually sold my left kidney for them to have done Mist or One Day at a Time lmaoo. From left to right (For those who have no idea about them) : JONGHO (Maknae), SAN, WOOYOUNG, YEOSANG, HONGJOONG (Captain), YUNHO, MINGI and SEONGHWA.

Yunho knows he’s all that good god

The best part was when you realized how much of their discography you like and how well their music has aged. I wonder whether the unconventional parts of their music are the parts that make you dislike so much of their music on the first go but also make their songs timeless like the clarinet you dislike in Work. No one will hear it in ten years and think "that's so mid 2020s." I think you should relisten to the album with that in mind. Seonghwa actually deserved praise for his high note in Utopia. Since it's release, he's only been able to hit it breathily. It sounded ethereal, so it worked for the song, but I've never heard him hit it with so much sound before. He's making great progress as are Wooyoung and Yeosang. They sing so much more confidently these days. I'm proud of them. Thanks for the reaction! ❤

Nah, there's some things I just know I don't like hahaha and that clarinet and work is just one of them. It's the rhythm and English lyrics for the chorus I immediately don't like, very p1harmony adjacent and feels very trendy.

I’m not sure how much you keep up with the lore, but it’s interesting that you say the clarinet in Work sounds sad because I think it was meant to have this sad or more serious undertone. In the lore for this album, it skips ahead 3 years and they’ve all drifted apart and gone down separate paths because ATEEZ wasn’t successful in World A. So I think Work, when read with the lore, is actually about how they drifted apart and went down different career paths because at the end of the day you have to work to make a living. So sometimes that means giving up your dream and I think the intro Golden Hour points out how to cope with the loss of this dream by looking for joy in the moments in life that we often take for granted.

It actually did! There were a few references to their new career paths. I think Jongho was buried and kept in the ground to symbolize how he was essentially left behind by the others and continued a career in music where he trained idols. Yeosang became a rich investor (hence the calculator, the money, and the chicken laying the golden eggs). Mingi became a rich model and fashion influencer, which is why I think his outfits were the most flashy and extravagant and he was always surrounded by money. Wooyoung became a flight attendant and the plane flies over him in the mv. There may have been references to the others careers that I haven’t seen yet, but here are the rest of their careers. Hongjoong wrote a blog about their adventures in World Z that became a bestselling book (that Yeosang secretly invested in). Yunho is traveling the world looking for the next adventure so he can feel like a hero again. San opened up a food truck and travels everywhere enjoying the little (golden) moments in life. And, Seonghwa became a firefighter that saves people to help him cope with all the people he couldn’t save in World Z.

I always enjoy your honest analysis. Moreover, I look forward to your Yunho appreciation. Love it!

Have you listened to the smoothing harmonies version of Treasure? That song makes me soar. Jongho’s coach is the daughter of Michael Jackson’s coach. It’s a technique he developed but can’t remember now. Yunho’s voice is a chameleon like voice. He’s sometimes hard to identify because he can mimic a lot of sounds and tones.

Oooh nice question. I'd always loved singing as a kid and it was something we did as a family but really Mariah Carey made me obsessed with what voices can do and from then I(around 2004), I really got in to music/singing then I went to music college etc

I like that you’re a huge fan but don’t blindly adore everything a group produces. You were fanboying so hard for this Killing Voice and just casually insert that you didn’t really like their most recent album. All my favorite bands tend to try new experimental sounds. I don’t always like the direction they go in, but that never lessens my love for the songs I like. Just wanted to say I really enjoy your channel, even when our tastes are different. ❤

The thing about ateez that I think is a bit underappreciated always: they not only all have great and unique voices but also an amazing and divers discography to show them voices off

For me, I felt like they teased too much of Work. So when the song actually dropped, it felt lacklustre because I felt like I had already heard and seen everything. I would've LOVED to be surprised on the day of release by Hongjoong saying he got a fur coat so he makes it purr, or Yeosang hugging a chicken. And because the song stayed the same with no unpredicted beat drops or switch-ups, and I saw all of the surprising elements of the MV beforehand, I was like "but I've already seen majority of this already".

I hear what you’re saying. I liked Work, but when I listened to the full song, it felt anticlimactic to me. The surprise for me was how much I loved Shaboom, as I didn’t like the song at all from the teaser.

It is amazing how Ateez only has good songs and known to all, all are wonderful and self -astral, they are songs that give you chills listening to their voices live, which precedes in studio, jongho my dear, your vocal makes me levitate, wow. .. And Mingi was sick, so he was drinking more water, he was disrupted that his voice fails, but gave a show.Vocal kings, dance kings, performance kings. I would recommend when watching the MV's to also watch the dance practices to see how good the choreo is, and how well they dance/perform. We need part 2, dingo, please see this dingo music, I want to hear beyond them too in this killer voice .. they are so amazing !! I'm so proud of them. I know one of them at onr point (I think Jongho) said they actually don't like performing Utopia because of how high the notes go and it's hard for them to sing live
