In the midst of the chaos of the butt debate, a small moment that i thought was really sweet was when yeosang went “ah!” and they all stopped talking and seonghwa asked him if he had something to say, i just thought it was nice because yeosang doesnt speak up often but when he does try to, they give him all their attention 🥹

Literally every Ateez chaotic live: Wooyoung: starts some random argument and sets the group on fire Yunho: Supports the chaos wooyoung started by making weird comments and gestures that even Wooyoung tries to stop him San: agrees or disagrees, but either way adds to the chaotic fuel, usually says something that no one knows where it comes from and makes everyone confused for a few seconds Yeosang: first quiet then suddenly throws in some joke that makes the group explode in laughter (He's a secret weapon) Mingi: laughing with his mouth wide open, has time to make random cute faces, agrees with both sides of the argument (mostly Yunho's side though) Hongjoong: Tries to stop members by scolding them, occasionally roasts members esp woosan and Mingi Songhwa: The mom who has lost control of her sons and just let's them do whatever they want while occasionally calmly telling them that they should stop Jongho:... Basically Judging everyone 99% of the time and questioning he's life decisions while low-key enjoying the chaos

That first video was one of the first things I watched because it was the most recent release when i started looking at their channel. I loved it so much. During that time I hadn't cemented who was my bias. But now that I have one (i mean technically 3, but whos counting), and rewatching it with you, brings up some memories of when i found ateez. That Questionable Christmas VLive is honestly one of the most iconic and funniest and best things to ever happen. A little shocked when Seonghwa said he didn't watch pokemon LOL It's one butt, two cheeks. The thing is, at least for Mandarin and Taiwanese, there's a word for butt, but there's no word they use regularly for left side or right side (such as cheeks, cheeks is relatively widely used, but at least in Taiwan, theres not really a word like that.) So maybe that's similar to Korean? Oh my gosh! I was like why was it so loud when seonghwa was sharpening the pencil?! then i realized it was nimbus lol we love cat interruptions! at least I do! love you guys!

One of the first really? Haha what an amazing impression to get from them 😂! That VLive.. that was something else. That was one of the most chaotic and funny things I think we've watched so far 😂😂! Omg Nimbus ... this was the last video in the set of many that we had recorded that night and by this time he was DONE with not having our attention on him. Plus he's recently discovered that scratching couches is a thing. We're now retraining him to scratch the actual cat scratchers 😭. Of all the videos for him to do that on. We love you 😘😘

I giggled a little at their reactions to Hwa's dad bringing in their own real tree that they owned, because it reminded me of my first Christmas with my stepmom's parents. They owned a decent bit of acreage with a bunch of trees, and I still remember hiking out in the snow to see the tree her dad had picked out that year... the men chopped it down and hauled it back to the house, got it set, and then the ladies went to decorating. It was so tall that we had to run upstairs to the loft (overlooking the living room) to help with lights and ornaments, and put the angel on top. It was such a neat experience, and even though I was there for several more years of hauling in trees from their land (which were progressively shorter over time to make it easier to handle and decorate), I've never forgotten how that first time felt. If I ever have my own land, I think I'd probably leave the tree planted and use weather-safe decorations, but still... it's definitely neat. Ahem... the debate... in daily speech I always use "butt" as a singular noun referring to the entirety of the area made up by the "buttocks" muscles, because that's just standard where I'm from and where I've lived as an adult. Even my medical and physical care team refer to it that way, unless referencing specific muscles by name. In technical terms, yes there are multiple muscles there and we'd use plural verbs if speaking about more than one, but they are all part of a single-unit term known as the "butt". Think of it like our guys here -- if we're talking about 8 guys then we'd certainly consider that as a plural term, but "ATEEZ" is a single unit so singular verbs apply to the group. (Examples: "ATEEZ is and amazing group" and "these young men are really talented", which we can combine into one sentence as "ATEEZ is an amazing group of young men who are really talented.") If we want to keep to anatomy, since the question was asked whether one cheek makes a butt then we can use cheek here... "cheek" singular, "cheeks" plural, and cheeks plus other things make up a singular "face". Maybe it's in how you look at it, or what you were raised hearing, but I'd be hard-pressed to keep a straight face if I heard "butt" being used as a plural, it just looks and sounds strange to me. For the record, I also think a straw has 1 hole with 2 openings, because it's a clear hollow all the way through from one side to the other. You can make two holes on either side of a hill, and they remain two separate holes until they're connected... at that point, it's 1 hole with two openings/entrances. Just how my brain works, lol. ...oh my god... I didn't realize San used the 8 makes 1 team logic of having 1 butt. I literally paused your reaction to come type up my thoughts on it, then rambled more than I needed to. Oh well. Bonus -- watching the last part of the reaction while my husband is sleeping behind me, trying desperately not to wake this poor man up when Nimbus popped up to say hi (or when choking back my laughter in general).

the thing with the butt debate that is very important context to understand: in Korean the word for butt and the word for buttcheek is the same! that's why they kept saying "we have a left and right butt," the whole reason for the debate! saying "one butt two cheeks" wouldn't work, because they're the same word!
