Yunho’s voice is chameleon like. He has the ability to sing so many styles and his range is pretty wide. Youth is probably my favorite of the unit songs. Mingi partially wrote the song several years ago and he and Yunho completed it for the album. And don’t feel bad for admiring Yunho and Mingi. I feel the same way.

Hongjoong actually personally recorded the Production Behind for MATZ and KQ released it! It was really fun to see him work behind the scenes, his recording process and even him coaching/mentoring Seonghwa for his rap/demo recording! I think you would really enjoy it since ATEEZ doesn't do recording Behinds but Hongjoong took it upon himself because we had been asking.

Also I watched your review of the album on Patreon and I knew you would end up loving the album and songs after a while! Sometimes it really does take visuals or just let the alum marinate a little. I loved it on the first listen myself BUT after like a week of constant listening It is now def in my top 4 bodies of work ATEEZ has done, obsessed!

We've been knew that Ateez is a fuckin phenomenon. The debuted strong AND THEY JUST KEEP ELEVATING! And it's so exciting to watch

I love how jongho pulls at the higher notes cause to me it sounds more dramatic and gut wrenching with the songs they have, most of their lyrics are about suffering after all

I'm SOOO GLAD I'm not the only one that's literally obsessed with IT's You!!!! Most definitely my song of the year, and has been on repeat since the album has released. San is my ultimate bias, so this song has literally made me fall in love with him as a performer all over again. Ateez is just such a talented group, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon them all those years ago. I will sell a arm and a leg to see these songs performed live.

6:30 it's interesting you brought up Hongjoong's natural ability to perform. Seonghwa said something to the effect that when Hongjoong was made everything put into him was all about making music, performing, etc, but he wasn't given daily life skills.😂. Seonghwa often has to remind him to eat, make sure he doesn't lose things, and other basic things. He said Hongjoong takes care of everyone and he takes care of Hongjoong.

Honestly the reason I love ateez so much is because they each have so much star quality. Like not only do they consist of great choreography, visuals and vocals….they have personality and an identity. That’s something that I think is missing in a lot of new gen groups, they lack character. I’m looking forward to their tour as well as Coachella performance Ps. the Youth video is so special. I'm honestly so happy they made videos for each of the unit songs.

San's talked about looking up to Kai as a mentor and I believe even got his feedback when he was working on his Warriors performance. I do very much agree that that mini dance break in the song feels SO much like Kai (...and maybe one day I'll get a collab, though I'm not sure I would survive it...)

I felt those Hongjoong words honestly lol, I look at him and it's really a "damn, you're a star". And having watched the "Making of" video for MATZ, the talent is insane - the transition from a hard rock song to more rap, no words lol

Hongjoong is one of my favorite idols in the industry. Very special.

For me, Matz is the most intense (they're such powerful performers and have amazing chemistry), It's You is the smoothest and most sensual (this trio's energy is smth), Youth is the most beautiful and harmonic (i will never get over how organic Mingi and Yunho sound together, just perfect. and i agree, we need an album from them or at least more tracks. I also always appreciate you complimenting Yunho's and Lee Know's vocals because i feel like they have the sweetest voices but are often underappreciated), and Everything is the most romantic (Jongho can slay those K-drama OSTs).

Now when you say Taeyong, I was watching all of these MVs with my friends the other day and we said that Hongjoong and Taeyong exude similar energy. When you think of cool people it’s the two of them.

While i loved each of their units "its you" speaks to my forever love of sexy R&B love songs lol

youth is my favourite songs from these four, everything from their voices, the lyrics and this beautiful music video. yunho and mingi’s friendship is so lovely to see, it makes me wish for a bond so deep like this. the lyrics are so important to me too, extremely real and honestly made me cry. i’m troubled by my youth, i admire aspects of it yet remember the painful times simultaneously occurring during it. and i’m still in the middle of my youth, yet it’s getting more and more difficult. i really love this song.

I think all atinys can agree EVERY SINGLE MEMBER AND UNIT ATE THIS COMEBACK! These songs are so amazing in their own ways and I'm so glad they gave everyone their own little music video!! Oof. If I had to pick a fave, it'd definitely be Jongho's solo; his vocals snatched my edges lol. I'm Seonghwa-biased so I also have to shoutout to the catchy chorus of MATZ song & the hip-hop feelings.

Can I suggest you check out Jongho's Immortal Songs performance and maybe Gravity live? I am still waiting for Yunho to release his own solo song cover. He has such a beautiful voice. Honestly, no one is doing it like Ateez. Their concert last week was insane. It wasn't a concert...it was a whole story. The attention to detail they are putting in their entire brand is amazing. I can't wait to see what they do next because they have just been surpassing themselves each time!

It’s You is a really good video. BBTrippin posted the dance on their channel for this dance. They were probably the main choreographers but San and Wooyoung have choreographed other things for Ateez. It was likely a team effort. I always love R&B Ateez-I know you want more San but I want more R&B Wooyoung too. It was a lot of fun to watch your reaction to these songs. I really enjoyed the whole album but really enjoy the unit songs.

Thiss, whenever I see any other reactors try and "critique" them, it isn't even with proper reasoning and gets really off-putting (especially this one vocal coach who reacts to them) but this video actually came across with genuine and detailed suggestions! It was really nice to see

My feelings are mutual for its you even though I am matz stan. But oh San’s vocals, i want them injected in my blood to survive.

in MATZ at first I thought it was a song about the haters, but then some atinys said that at one point they talk about directly to people that were stalking them and put tracking devices on their vans. idk much about that bc I wasn't a atiny back then, but I know they still have people following them to every single country and to be honest this is a bit terrifying (eng is not my first language, hope u understand) love u reaction ❤️, and I like the ones there authentic. u can always tell when people dislike because is music and everybody has his likes 🤷‍♀️, but u also can tell when people are bored, or simple doesn't care

The Ateez sub units were simply magnificent and there is so much varied content in the songs that it is hard to believe that Ateez created such a work of art

As a Hottoek, I think you should check out, if you haven't, Yunho's old lives where he sang Photograph, Bad, and there's another one. It's raw and imperfect but still beautiful. I think Bad suits him well. Videos are here on KZread.

when you talk about Jongho "pulling" his voice for the high notes... it reminds me of BTS Jin's similar nasaly tone when he goes high. When Jin did it/does it, it used to kinda agg me lol but I got used to it as his style.

So we can expect to see you again in early March for the video performance reactions? 😅😂 It seems they will release performance videos for their unit songs, too. I don't know if 'everything' will get one, though. Anyway, thank you for this video 😊

NCT too… doyoung and Taeil, even Xiaojun is on another level! Then there’s Haechan, ten, jaehyun, etc… of course NO ONE is beating Exo, HANDS DOWN (not even seventeen). Exo is called r&b and vocal kings for a reason.

I think Jongho's slide fits the yearning feel, but I want him to fully annunciate the NG on his really high 'everything' . I love your San appreciation. Did you catch that a lot of the high background ad libs at the end were sung by Wooyoung? As someone who has followed ATEEZ for some time, I love these unit songs--proof for the haters that Jongho isn't the only member who can sing.

You should watch them live, they did all th subunits at a concert i seoul not too long ago. It is on youtube and it's amazing watching them perform those songs.

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned but Mingi actually produced Youth himself, and I think we need more of his artistry on music because he has such a talent for instrumentals and melodies.

Great video as always! It was interesting to see what you thought about jongho as someone who doesnt know a ton about vocals and such. It was nice to learn something new! Also, idk if youre aware, but theres some uploaded performances on youtube of these songs along with others (i think they performed arribba and a few other b sides too) from their seoul to power concert. You may want to check them out. It was interesting to see how each member prioritizes different parts of the performance (i noticed wooyoung cares more about dancing fully and jongho tends to care more about his vocals, for example). Just a forewarning tho, the cameraman kind of dropped the ball a few times since he kept losing the members for some performances. Anyways, its great when i see you get excited about things cuz it doesnt always happen but i always know that when it does its super genuine

I loved Matz as a song, but I wholly agree that the mv completed it. It adds a whole new layer of story telling to it that I agree it lacks as a song alone.

HJ definitely has that rare star quality. Love all the Ateez MV!

I loved hearing more of the versatility of Yeosang’s voice in It’s You. He’s done covers before that have shown it off, but it’s nice to hear in an official track. My only consistent gripe with their production team is their vocal direction for Yeosang’s parts. They’re like “oooo you went viral for your low voice once so let’s give you parts that are so low that you cannot enunciate and let’s put a shit ton of autotone and filtering on it and make you borderline shout when singing it live” and call it a day. Track after track. He is far more versatile than most people realize but it’s Edenary that is boxing him in.

Totally disagree with you about Jongho's voice. The long eeee sound isn't an open vowel. Sam Scott Thorne has an amazing channel reacting but also educating on vocal anatomy. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in learning about the mechanics of singing.

He didn't sing the long eee like a closed vowel though, he modified it into an EAHH sound, if you're discussing 16:03 that is. Compare it to the previous closed vowel arpeggio he sings at 15:12, very different. I checked him out and sadly Sam didn't react to Everything specifically so can't compare notes and of course you can disagree with me about how I feel about his voice that's subjective but those notes weren't closed vowels lol.
