Fuck that. I work hard for my money, and I'll do with it what I want, and another thing, if people don't want to treat me like a human being, that's their problem. I won't lose sleep over it because they don't pay my bills now; the only way we will see results for Black people is if we have a voting boycott; because both political parties have used us for way too long, and it's time to hold them accountable just saying.

As someone who has...uh "worked" in costumes like this, they can absolutely obscure your vision. After seeing the video though, it's clear they see them, and even dismiss them with a hand gesture. They can see them, its clear. They really thought they could get away with this. Absolutely heartbreaking and traumatizing for those kids, makes me sick to my stomach to see them reaching out for a hug only to get snubbed...They deserve a special day. Hire better employees, they are interacting with kids and are the face of your brand. Just tacky and awful especially from such a big company.

When I saw the video, I thought there was no way to explain what happened but the person in the costume reportedly said that they did not see the little girls and that they were communicating with someone else in the crowd who was yelling for them to take a picture with their baby. So they were telling that person no. It's believable and I do feel bad for the little girls because they were so hurt and it's hard to watch their little faces.

These videos of Rosita rejecting all the Black children is truly disgusted me. Being someone who grew up watching Sesame Street, it was a show that always promoted diversity and inclusivity. I don't know where Sesame Place got these racist losers from, but they definitely need to be closed down and the families need to be compensated...but like you said it's very unlikely that the black community will come together to boycott Sesame Place. It's like the Khardashians Klan, they use to disrespect and steal from Black Women all the time, but yet Black Women are the ones buying all their products. It just blows my mind. I don't think anything will come of this situation, there will be no justice as usual. I for one will not be supporting Sesame Place.

Whew, talk about divine intervention. I’m black and work as a nanny for a white family. About a week before this story came out, the family I work for asked if I would accompany them to PA for Sesame Place. I turned it down because I’m traveling to TX that weekend for my niece’s birthday. I’m so glad I was able to tell them no initially because it would have most definitely made things awkward if I suddenly told them I can no longer go with them because of the park coming out as racist toward little black babies that look like me (and I be damned if they have me walking through that park looking like someone’s mammy). Since the story broke though I have been fighting the urge to ask them their thoughts on it and wonder if they would then reconsider taking their kid. 🧐

I agree, but I also kinda don't. They quite literally defended the performer in the first "apology" by making up that BS about someone asking to hold their child for a picture, and the performer being unable to see the 2 girls because of them being on a "lower level" (even though the mascot _blatantly_ looks directly at them and then waves them off). But, you are right that this is just a function of them defending their right to continue business as usual on every level, and that means treating the pain of Black children as a non-issue.

That's just one of many instances we experienced and I know it isn't identical to this but the point is the same. R4cists will never see us as human or even see us as kids when we still are. Starbucks, the NFL, Donald Sterling (former owner of the L.A. Clippers) & the NBA, H & M, and now Sesame Place. Sadly, many Black people lack the personal dignity and self-discipline to collectively stand together through a boycott to TEACH other groups how they need to interact with us or suffer the economic consequences. The adults in the Black community need to rise up and care for ALL of our Black children!!!! This was heartbreaking...but VERY "American."

I am genuinely surprised they didn't fire that employee because it sounds like a pr nightmare especially when companies view these employees as disposable. It's horrible anyone would do that to little kids, that must have been absolutely devasting. Those poor babies! It's sad that Black kids have to deal with racism at such an early age. (As an Asian/Latine woman, most of the racism I dwelt was as a teen/adult.) My sibling was helping out record interviews for a sociology project, and the stuff they heard in interviews about what some people experienced as kids is really messed up. My happy bit for the week is sniffing gourmand perfumes from Sorcellerie Apothecary, I have one that smells like raspberries, white chocolate, and fluffy marshmallows. They also have a really buttery cake accord, which is just delectable. Ive also enjoyed playing Brookhaven Grimoire.

Ok, made it to the end! I've been enjoying working from home this week: I rarely get the chance to do so, and it's been nice not having to hop out of bed and head to the office. My mornings have been slow and peaceful, which I didn't realize I needed. I can't say I've been 'enjoying' this next thing, but with it being July and mid-year, I've taken a moment to reflect on my goals for 2022. I'm really proud of the progress I've been making, but it's also a good reminder that there's still so much I want to do! Grateful that I've been sticking to journaling this year otherwise, I'd have no clue where I'm at in life or remember my new year's resolutions!!

I was an employee there… Entertainer. 2004-2006. It is in Langhorne; NOT Philadelphia. We are 15 minutes from Trenton and Philadelphia alike. I support putting your hard earned dollars where you are appreciated. I also enter the conversation with the nuance that most performers are 17-25 and the heat is real on that schedule; and that multiple individuals Don the masks. You get a lottery from performers; characters also alternate for walks in the park in lateral movement with the dance shows. There are ways around it… ask a rep for the walk schedule; and they can see them. No kids should be treated lesser than; but I can account for my time in saying we had multiple black performers (myself included) who went above and beyond to entertain; and engage the youth with positively imaginative experiences and memories.

I made everyone feel special. Note: at Disney we were not allowed to hold babies.

I recently discovered them and now I can't go without one for too long it's pretty ridiculous.
