Jim is so underrated. It's his interplay with Omar, his backup vocals and his keyboards that make ATDi that much better.

maybe they're most moving song ever i get chills each time jim goes "walk away" and i also get this wierd feeling in my heart , like a mild irritation. amazing band , too amazing to be true , basically kills off all my hopes of being an influential musician

this is possibly the greatest melodic song ever made. oh, and at the drive-in isn't emo, they aren't post-hardcore, they are music. cedric bixler avala and omar rodriguez are musical geniouses and have brought 2 of the greatest and most influencial bands to my life(tmv, atdi) and i am so thankful. they sound entirely different from anything i've heard and the 2 bands sound entirely different to eachother. music genres can be debated forever but only the band truly knows who they are as artists

No way. I know some kids are all "Oh, any music that is popular sucks!!!!!" but my philosophy is this: If I like your music, I'll buy it. Simple as that. I have many mainstream bands on my iPod (Chevelle, System of a Down, Sum 41 to name a few) and I have no problem supporting a band that sounds good. I actually wish ATDI would get popular just so more people can hear and be inspired by them

It's because the youth of today, tainted by the mainstream media, would sooner buy into the music Disney is producing (Hanna Montana, Jonas Bros., etc.) than quality music. Many great bands fall through the cracks unnoticed due to a materialist ideal portrayed by the media. It's practically being shoved down our throats. Kudos to those who can rise above that bullshit.

That's very true, I know Ian totally denied "emo" and all of that, but that doesn't deny it's existence. If you think about it, all genres were made by the media, Rock N Roll, Metal, even Punk, genres technically don't exist, because each artist brings his or her own stuff to the table. genres are only for making it easier to rack cds at Wal-Mart. really all Emo is is post-hardcore, but it's still falsely used when describing, you can't call Eazy-E "Techno" or anything.

love this song...miss at the drive-in...but thats the past man (in my opinion the band divided into 2 individual parts which are actually really amazing...the mars volta are sometimes kinda chaotic but really epic and they got the balls to try things out...and on the other hand there is sparta with its dreamy and harmonic atmosphere...so no point in making one of them down...just 2 different bands which have one awesome root) ....damn typing too much again ~.~ xD

I fucking love this song, and this performance, but I almost feel like some of Omars guitar work is intrusive in the song. I liked the song when it was very simplistic, without all the guitar effects. But man, the end is awesome. Both guitars playing, Jim and Cedric yelling. Makes my skin crawl
