#GED #GEDTest #GEDNews
Can you take the GED test at home online? In previous years, the answer was no. But recently, the GED testing service announced that some students can take the GED test online. And if you want to know how you can find out if you’re eligible to take the GED online, then you’re gonna wanna watch this whole video.
On June 8th, which happens to be my birthday, the GED Testing Service announced that they are offering a new Online Proctored GED Test as a pilot program in some locations, due to testing centers being closed right now because of the pandemic.

    Hi parker. I've been following you for a little while now. I'm in Canada and I took ther GED test twice; once last year and once this year. I'm terrible at math. I literally get headaches when I'm trying to figure it out. I find that the test are very tricky and I'm not that alert when I'm under exam stress. It's Just the math that's coming between me and my diploma. Can you offer any further help?

  • @TestPrepChampions

    @TestPrepChampions

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for watching my videos! First, I recommend having a doctor check on your headaches. It's possible that the stress is causing them, but make sure you see a doctor who can rule out other causes. That being said, I have some strategies that should help you with exam stress. First, please note that I have a few videos in which I talk about mindest, relieving fear, and overcoming mental blocks. I recommend watching them, as they're both short. ▶GED Test Mental Blocks: How to End Self-Sabotage and Pass the GED: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eIFomJOIY67daZc.html ▶Ending your GED Math Fear and Hopelessness starts HERE: kzread.info/dash/bejne/daBllamjacLNeaw.html In addition to these two videos, here are some other strategies I recommend: 1. Deep breaths. I recommend getting to the test maybe 10 - 15 minutes early and just sitting quietly and taking slow, calming deep breaths. Then keep doing this during your test. During the stress of a test, when panic attacks happen, we tend to take very shallow breaths, and the brain doesn't get enough oxygen. This makes it impossible to perform up to your full potential. 2. Cheer yourself on in your head. Tell yourself something like "I can do this, I can do this, I can do this, etc." over and over again as you're waiting for the test to start. And keep doing it during the test. Whenever you start to think negative thoughts and doubt yourself, try to counter these out by telling yourself positive thoughts instead. 3. Try visualization. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just try to picture yourself acing your test. Imagine you're sitting there, taking the test, and you're just slaughtering every question that comes your way. And even when questions come up that you don't know how to do at first, picture yourself digging in and giving them your best try. You can just shut your eyes for a few minutes (or longer if you want) and do this, you don't have to spend a long time doing to get benefits. The reason this can work is that when we stress out about tests and doubt ourselves, many times we're picturing ourselves failing the test. Since you're already holding a mental picture in your head, why not at least try to make it a positive one? Just a word of caution about visualization though, some test takers swear by it, while others say it makes them feel more stressed out, so you'll have to experiment and see for yourself if it makes you feel better or not! 4. Think about who needs you on your A-game. Do you have a close family member or friend who's supportive of you that you trust? During your test, if you start to feel stressed out or start to panic, you can try picturing this person encouraging you, cheering you on, and coaching you through the test. 5. Ground yourself back in the present moment. If your head starts spinning and you start to panic, remind yourself that you're disconnecting from the present moment. You can bring yourself back to the present by reconnecting with your body. Try to feel your feet against the floor, your body against the chair, and your arms against the table. Take deep breaths and try to bring your attention back to the present. 6. During a stressful testing situation, you may start to feel the tension in your body physically. Try to tune into body parts where you're feeling the tension, and try to consciously release the tension. For example, sometimes I clench my jaw too tight and tense up my shoulders during tests and I have to remind myself to relax these body parts. You can just say "release, release, release" to yourself over and over again in your head maybe 10 times or so and try to let go of the tension in your body. 7. Know that the more you study and prepare, the more confident you should feel. 8. Try to let go of any bad memories about test taking in the past. I know this is a lot easier said than done. But instead of worrying about how you've done on tests in the past if you didn't do well, try to view this as a whole new chance to do well. 9. Slightly overkill your studying. Get to the point where you're pretty sure you could pass, and then do just a little bit more studying. No need to drag it out for weeks and weeks after you're feeling ready. Just do a little bit more. Do at least a little bit more than you think is necessary, and the confidence will come as you realize more and more that you're over prepared to crush your test. 10. Think of the reasons why you want to pass in the first place. Reminding yourself of why you want to pass so badly will help you stay motivated and will help you move past the doubts. 11. Try to focus on what you want to happen, NOT on what you don't want. Obviously, you want to pass the test so you can move on with your life. So try to focus on passing and not failing. Instead of thinking about why you can't pass, try to think about all the reasons why you CAN! 12. Don't be afraid to set your goals high! If you make your goal to pass with a 145 and you come up a little short, then you won't pass. But, for example, if you make your goal to score a 175, and then you come up a little short, you'll still probably pass! 13. At the same time, note that some people do better with the mindset that it will be great if they pass, but if not, that's okay too. This mindset might relieve the pressure you feel, so you might want to try taking the pressure off yourself and telling yourself that it's okay if you fail. Tell yourself that you're going to try your best and that it will be great if you pass, but if not, it''s okay too. This may relieve some stress. Lastly, take just 5 or 10 minutes to think about the worst case scenario now and make a plan for what you'll do. This will help you not feel as anxious. The worst that can happen is probably just that you'll have wasted some time and money, that's all. You might feel upset or discouraged, but you'll be strong enough to hit the books again and try again when you're ready. The reason I said to only think about this for maybe 5 or 10 minutes is so that you're not dwelling on the negative. Just make a plan for the worst case scenario so you'll know you can handle it if it does occur, and then push it out of mind and focus on the positive. Good luck!!!

    Do you mean the TASC or the GED? Unfortunately, in NY, they only have the TASC now and not the GED. I haven't heard anything about the TASC test being available online, but you could contact their testing service and ask them about it: tasctest.com/contact-us/
