    So just wanted to give a update on quality assurance as I believe these are being rushed due to demand. I have order a total of 4 in the over a month for people including mine all through Amazon. One I revied came fine and 1 other came fine. 1 ultra 7 version was amazons fault, got notification was damaged in transit and refunded. Another came with keyboard issues with trackpad, no obvious deformities just clicking was hard and retracting slow. So there definitely appears to be a quality assurance issue which I hope will be addressed after this initial rush is through. I still however love my Duo, guess its a 50% change you'll get a dud, but Amazon is great with returns, and that is why I always order through them.

    unfortunately the only way saving battery life is limiting to using it in battery saver mode which is what I do most of thee time when im not plugged in at work, and it last's me most of the day with regular use, but this is just basic tasks mainly research. I also bought a 100W compact power brick and usb c cable which I use to charge my laptop and phone so i don't have to use 2 chargers. Bought rite off amazon. Anything 40W and above will charge thee laptop, recommend at least 65w because 40 will charge very slow.

  • @TecYimBroke

    @TecYimBroke

    2 ай бұрын

    Hello, I have not come across anything that made it onconvieniant using the yoga book keyboard. The keyboard is held in place by magnets when on the screen and they hold very well to prevent sliding, and while on a table surface it has 2 rubber strips which help prevent sliding. No heat at all noticed, the only thing I cpuld say is the keys are solid plastic and dont have the softer texture like most premium keyboards and like the Duo keyboard has.

    Thank you very much for this comparison review, I was looking forward to it. There's no question the Asus Duo is far superior in terms of performance and costing way less than the Yogabook. Too bad Lenovo didn't actually up their game this year and decided to play conservatively by doing a mild at this point if I had to choose one I'd def go with the Asus one, even though I love the 360 degrees mode and the overall design of the Yogabook. I'm not actually in a rush to get one of these, I really hope Lenovo will make significant upgrades for next year model: an Intel Ultra 9 Series (H and not U), Arc Graphics, 14" 120Hz and 2k resolution is prob goign to be an instant buy for me. I still don't understand why both Lenovo and Asus went with this weird 3k/1800p resolution, it's non-standard and I believe on a 14" dispaly 2k is more than enough, I rather want to have to choose between 2k and 4k rather than FHD and 3k tbh. I'm largely disappointed by both keyboards battery life, they ought to have 8h minimum with brightness on, therefore in either case I'd rather go with a 3rd party wireless keyboard. All in all the Asus Duo is the obvious winner here, it's a no brainer, but it's obvious this kind of device needs to be polished and optimized, which is comprehensible since t's basiclaly the first generation for actual (full) dual screen devices. Thanks once again for this review anyway, good job!!

    Personally I see the appeal of a higher resolution screen, because the primary advantage of a dual-display laptop is multitasking, and going from 1200p to 1800p displays could easily be the difference between having 2-3 legible pages open at a time and having 4-8. But I seem to have better detail vision than most people; a lot of people I know have to scale things up to 150% or 200% scale on high rez screens just to read the text, so they wouldn't get any real benefit from the higher DPI. I wish that Asus allowed more customization between the components. They have one model with a u7 processor, 16gb ram, and 1200p screens, and one model with a u9 processor, 32gb ram, and 1800p screens. No way to get the lower power processor with more ram, or the lower rez screen with the higher end processor, either of which would be very nice for some customers.

  • @TecYimBroke

    @TecYimBroke

    2 ай бұрын

    @sindrisuncatcher653 yeah I think 3k offers a very good clarity but still more battery efficient than full 4k which i would prefer on a laptop. In the U.S. I was unable to get anything with u9 processor only availability was the U7 with 32gb and 3k highest avaliable.

    Thank you for your review, much appreciated. One question regarding the DUO: to your judgement what is the risk of the keyboard bottom to damage the lower screen having some rubbish attached to the bottom rubber of the keyboard? The Lenovo keeps distance between keyboard bottom and lower screen, imho the DUO too bad doesn't (am I right?) . Nevertheless I like the all-in-one concept of the DUO.

    Hi, so I can't compare to macbook as I dont have one. The fan noise on YogaBook is barely noticeable. The Duo, when set on performance, you definitely hear the fan, but it's not that loud, quieter than the Asus Zenbook 14 and Lenovo Yoga 9I and evem those arent too bad.

It will work great for long period of medium duty tasks and light task as I do this regularly. I have not however tested heavy duty long term affect yet, but light duty will have no issue with heat.

Suprised by lenovo though it has same intel arc gpu, though you have mentioned iris xe gpu before encoding starts. Will have to check specs of core 9 ultra vs core 7 ultra. 10 mintes 19 seconds, H264, the duo killed it, and I had the Zenbook Flip set to utilize dedicated gpu as default and it was utilizing it by 24% and Iris xe showed 5% usage during that video, not sure what was going on there. And Lenovo decided to to upgrade to the Arc graphics, im assuming because of the thin profile, and they would need to fogure out ways for better heat dissipation. Prob next years model we'll see significant upgrade from lenovo would be my guess.

    @@TecYimBroke I don't know if you understand my question? Read this: When using the **Samsung Book Ultra**, you can simultaneously use the **trackpad pointer** on both the computer and your phone. This allows you to seamlessly switch between screens using the pointer. To set this up, follow these steps: 1. On your **Galaxy Book**, click the **Galaxy Book Experience** icon in your taskbar. If you removed this shortcut previously, search for "Galaxy Book Experience" in your start menu. 2. Scroll down and click the button labeled "Do more with your tablet." 3. Select "Open" next to the **Multi Control** section. Make sure your **Galaxy phone** is powered on and you are signed into your Samsung account on both your phone and laptop. Samsung automatically populates **Multi Control** with supported devices registered to your Samsung account. With the **Multi Control** app open on your Galaxy Book, enable it by toggling the switch next to **Multi Control**.

    I've been using the Duo as my daily laptop for a few months now and absolutely love it. Its not for everyone, some may benefit from the YogaBook and some might just need a regular laptop. Look at multiple reviews and really get a picture of what you actually need and may benefit you not at just 1 task but your daily life like it benefits me for work and personal life. The issue with the Duo rite now is the stock and quality assurance as it seems its a hit or miss if you get one in stock it might come with defect or might luck out. Ive ordered a total of 4 so far for myself and others and 1 never made it. Said damaged in transit, and another came with a bad keyboard the dpad mechanism was broken inside.

    I’ve found on reddit that someone experienced these problem when using the Asus Zenbook Duo 2024: - Wobbly screen due to flexible metal chassis at hinge connections. - A keyboard that warps and slips, potentially damaging surfaces. - Muffled speaker sound on soft surfaces or in dual-screen mode. - Screen issues like refresh rate resetting to 60Hz, bottom screen not turning back on, brightness discrepancies, and color profile differences. - Minor concerns like faint static speaker sound and the absence of a media play/pause key, alongside a dedicated emoji key. I was wondering if you also experienced those problem?

  • @TecYimBroke

    @TecYimBroke

    2 ай бұрын

    Hello, it definitely has its quirks like most devices especially completely new design. I've found majority of smaller issues to be software related, and some can be fixed easily by adjusting settings in the MyAsus App. Wobbly Screen: true, however this only occurs when your pressing on the screen with your finger, thee closer you get to thee top the more wobble. This does not affect the touch accuracy, and there is no wobble while typing on the keyboard while still attached to thee device, its just like the Samsung Galaxy books, and other laptops that had similar hinge material. Lenovo does a good job with their hinge structure as I did not notice any wobble. Keyboard: I have not experienced these issues, thee keyboard is thin so in theory it can bend easily if you were to accidently sit on it, or somehow cause a decent amount of pressure to cause it to bend, and it has a soft smooth surface underneath, so I don't see how that could cause any scratches or damage to other surfaces. Speakers:: EDIT: I realized thee speakers are facing down on the bottom of thee device, and can see how it might seems muffled when placed on blankets or another soft surface that might cover it up a bit just like if you were to place your finger a bit over your phone speaker. I have not experienced any muffled sound with my everyday use, I use it on my couch, bed, and hard surfaces. There are different sound settings in thee MyAsus app that may affect this as well. Screen: There is a known issue with the brightness and color adjustment with the two screen synching properly, and it is believed to be a software issue at this time. I dont notice it much with regular use, I think someone that might use both screens for editing something like a photon stretcher across both screens might notice thee brightness or slight color difference. Now as far as the refresh rate, this is a setting that can be adjusted both in myasus app and windows display, and power settings can affect this as well. The laptop uses different power profiles when on battery and when on charger. Mine is set to 60Hz on battery and high performance mode on charger which screen is at 120Hz, and every time someone changes a power profile it will also adjust the way the screens change back and fort. If you want constant 120 then you have to make sure its not set on Dynamic. The other stuff you mention such as media key, this is not a standard practice, and usually limited to which laptops manufacturers add them to, and there is a dedicated emoji key, it is F11 😊😊😒😒🙌🙌, in the video you will see a emoji face on key f11.
