i find your content very satisfying to watch. it relaxes me. you are a highly skilled technician. i love to see all the equipment you use. i saw your previous video where Big Boss was assembling... that was cool to see.
It's good to see that after all these years you still enjoy bringing yet another piece of equipment back to life. Good work, sir. Greetings from Mexico!
It's always good to see that fixing things still makes you happy. 👍😎
Amazing repair! Alex you're the man!
Great job Alex! I ordered some stuff from you guys yesturday can't wait, excitement😃
That just rocks. Excellent work, dude.
I'm quite thankful that my laptop still works great but I find these vids very interesting because they teach me how to repair stuff.
You’re doing a wonderful work sir…I’m a fan from malawi the warm heart of Africa
You are genius absolutely good and intelligent work
Good have you back in KZread video show , Alex. 😊
Great job. Might have to get me one of them thermal camera next. It sure looked pretty handy there. Great video and thanks for all that you do.
Agreed, be tough to find one bad cap without a thermal camera. Those shorts end up effecting half the board sometimes. Although that one did show a tiny hole in it, still be like a needle in a haystack.
Hello 👋 a big fan from Ghana 🇬🇭
I love this stuff. So satisfying!!
As always great job. Thanks for the timestamps 😀
The desk looks so clean from any clutter :)
I don't really see use of these things in my life😂. But watching your videos makes me relaxed and I feel very good Love From India❤
Great work. Amazing. So i bet you could also find the problem without thermal cam, but yes it is a very fast help and good devices for such things. Thank you for the video. Greets
You make it look so easy,Because you are a legend
Lesson learned. Great job.
Good job my friend from guyana
Thank you, I was able to fix a customers laptop from your video. Not exact same pcb but close enough to help me dial in on where to put the milliohm meter to use.
A smile of hand work the greatest smile ever..
as always a great job. Italy
Thanks Tech this is great presentation. I need to the thermal camera to repair my faulty laptop that has failed to start.
It's magical🤩 i love you 🥰 Great job 👍💪
Good job mate 👍
Better than factory! Always look forward to your Videos .Hope the work on the place is going well!
Awesome job Alex. watching your videos from long time. & learn something new every time. still have 2 query in my mind. 1. how much soldering iron running at a time while you work because you quickly change it without replacing bit. 2. in any video u not use dc power supply to start laptop & ampere drawn by laptop to find out problematic area except while finding short
well done my friend.....👍
Hi, Big fan from India I m also working CTDI.
Top job as always
Your hot air skills are amazing!
I think you will be the right person to tell advise us which brand (and model maybe) has the least problems. I'm looking for new 14inch laptop.
Nice video Alex
thanks for showing with and with out heat camera.. How are you guys liking the new location and is everything set up?

What do you use to clean the flux can you add a link please
So the cap you replaced, how do you determine it's value? I was looking to buy that book full of these caps/resistors but didnt make sense to me going around replacing the cap without any actual info on the caps value.
Beautiful...
Nice job
Hi Sir.. quick question, is it common the caps broken easily and what mainly causing it? we can see the user never open / abuse the laptop, and premium laptops are built mainly focusing the quality as well
Love watching your videos but under the camera sometimes it looks like you add too much solder. But still love watching your videos.
My friend, why did you remove the music from your videos? We enjoy listening to it 10 percent of the total enjoyment
do you have bios bin for zenbook 14 ux334f?
he's great at his job .....
Awesome
I got my wife a new Asus laptop, after watching your channel for a while it makes me kind of nervous.

Don't be every electronic device can fail. it can be Asus or hp or whatever manufacturer it can happen but it happens mostly on gaming laptops because of the heat it produces when gaming.
what is that R24 smd to the left flat shiny w 2 solder points?. i have issue w part 1ROO33572 But i cant find replacement. Its corner is gone. Had a LED short and this is what i found.
I have noticed something that 2nd cap on the 8690 chip always goes bad faced it on my laptop
Lovely
Cool. 🏆
Please sir I really need voltage injection. how did I get one from you pipe?
we did it!
just got a zenbook 14 um431d With noo indiocator of charging, or LED's showing can the problem be the same?

I have question can "chipsets" make a short circuit in motherboard, because I found many capasitors are shorted, and two mosfet (pin1,2,3 source) that connected to pm_1v05 are grounded. ( these mosfet should not be grounded at all). Chipset amd 47b2 1851 218-0891011 Mobo is gigabyte b450 aorus elite v. i hop that you get my point, and sory about my bad English.
Can Freezing Spray be used in this case instead of the thermal camera and alcohol?
@bobsoft
Жыл бұрын
Yes but it evaporates fast. Another method is candle wax. Rub it on the suspected components and it will melt if shorted.
what is the reference of the hot tweezers please? it's very efficient to work with SDM components

Hello guys, if anyone have any advice about findig the boardview of the the motherboard of the UX434FLC?
how do you know if it is a short? I dont know what number you getting?

Sir I have a problem of bios ic in my zbook g3. But I also bring it to the computer shop but they told me that the Bios IC should be changed. So now they don't have any original IC of Zbook g3 2015. So sir if you tell me any information about it that which IC is original and where I get it from.
Hi my zenbook duo died a month back can you share me the blueprint or the motherboard diagram of this laptop so that i can get it repaired
new 2023 asus laptops (tested in TUF A15) will not power on without the back cover installed. It seems there is a mechanism that prevents the laptop to power on and returns it to shipping mode (which means you need to plug the charger first before powering on). I even tried removing the back cover when the laptop is powered on, the moment I remove it power to the laptop is cut-off. This is just a heads-up in case you get any repairs in the future.

Nice video, but maybe if you don't have a thermal camera you can use your Hands to feel the Heat on the board many people do like that

Candle wax also works well.
Who would have thought that Northridge Fix would be the home of electronic Mystery and Intrigue and when all leads fail, and guesswork comes up empty, like a good super-sleuth Alex finds the bad guy with a Thermal Camera. !! With a NF-Thermal Camera, there is no- where to hide...Case Closed !!! lol..The.NF Channel is BETTER than a Crime Novel, and ALWAYS BETTER than Factory...lol
Will the failed component (mosfet, cap, etc) always show as hot with thermal cam?
@Denise_in_progress
Жыл бұрын
Every fail component will light up if it's shorted. Or you can do it by feeling the components with your fingers to find the heatspot. A thermal camera is a must for fast repairs.
Best thing is that you didn't have to take the motherboard out👍
Hi Alex, I have a noob question. I was wondering if you could take a quick minute someday in one of your videos to explain the SMD books you have for sale. I took a look at your shop for the options but am confused which is which and for what. What is 201, 402, 603 etc etc please ?? If I am just a hobbyist looking to keep a variety of SMD components, what would you recommend ? I don't need a commercial quantity, just enough to be covered for the odd repair. Thanks very much. 201 book 170 values 50pcs each = 8500pcs 402 book 170 values 50pcs each = 8500pcs 603 book 170 values 50pcs each = 8500pcs 805 book 170 values 50pcs each = 8500pcs 1206 book 170 values 50pcs each = 8500pcs

Question....What causes short on these capacitors..and on the board
@Denise_in_progress
Жыл бұрын
Heat or poor quality capacitors, but most of the time heat.
Power connector solder joints look fractured.
Alex = Dr.Watson!!
a noob question: how you know what kind of capacitor is that? I see no text on it. How you decide what kind of replacement capacitor you need? Thank you.
@jonas.darwin
Жыл бұрын
You can see in the schematic or boardview, but if you can't find it or not exists, you can't try substitute for one that has the same size, or the same capacitor from a donor board.

hello sir
I know it's less likely that two components have failed, but having removed the two capacitors first, it only takes a moment to test each one for a short before soldering them back. That avoids the possibility that one of them is short _as well as_ something else.

Mr Alex could you please show show multimeter readings on ur screen plz. Sometimes it's very difficult for me to hear ur accents. South African accents is very different for united state. I know u try ur best to explain without changing us a penny.
Asus laptops and handphones are notorious for breaking down.
With thermal cam... 5 mins merely...without !!!!
MY take away from this is if you don't have a thermal camera, have lots of alcohol :D cheers!!

Just an observation. The camera angle to you is a little too high I prefere to be same level as you. It’s currently above you. What does everyone think is it just me being fussy.
