Bro, i just installed ram in the same laptop but the 8gb model. And it throws me a blue screen only when the new module is in. Idk what to do, i think the ram module i bought is just bad, and it was an 8gb ddr4 2400mhz soddim. The same that the laptop has, but it just dont work, it just boot the blue screen

Try once booting the laptop without the new installed ram, if the issue continues then the problem is not ram.

It is expandable upto 16gb. Maximum supported is 20gb (4gb pre-installed). You can use the crucial website for more info regarding this. www.crucial.in/compatible-upgrade-for/asus/vivobook-15-x505za

As you said it failed, then I would suggest remove and install sata ssd & make your laptop few grams lighter...and also why let unusable hdd left in the system..

@@lolice6193 see, its totally up to you... Cause both type of ssd have same speed... If you are installing m2 factor ssd, just keep in mind, it must have two notches, must not be any nvme. It just support normal m2 sata ssd (the names confusing I know, I felt the same when I was researching). On other note why would you install hdd again in future...once you will experience ssd, you won't downgrade ...

As far as I have researched while upgrading my laptop, this doesn't support nvme ssd. I would suggest you to go to crucial website to see supported ssd. See, you can replace hdd with sata factor ssd(the one I did) or you can add new ssd chip with two notches. The speed of both type of ssd is same. And that is the type only supported.

See for ssd you can have anything what your budget is... 512...1tb...2tb whatever you desire but make sure it sata ssd or m2 with two notches. See in the video after 6 min. For your third query, why do you need to use two SSDs. I understand the urge to fill every hole but this will not be cathartic. Also, not sure it will work but hey be the torch and guide us all😉 And about your last query, the RAM installed is 2400 but you can add 2666 also. Adding RAM higher than these MHz is pointless as it will dial down to match lower MHz to get in sync.... Hope this is helpful

Maxm RAM supported is 20GB in which 4gb is already in built. For ssd, well, it depends on your pocket but make sure to buy SATA factor one

Yes, but then the ram which is 3200 Mhz will slow itself down to 2400 Mhz to stay in sync with your slower RAM. It will affect your overall system performance but minimally. I know 2400 may be hard to find, you can still go for 2666. Why waste money on things that would not add anything...

You can install ssd with two notches, the slot is given for one notch only but don't be confused by that... See 6:56

I am also having same model here the 4 gb ram is solred on board we can put 4 gb ram or 8 gb ram then total will be 4 gb or 12 gb respectively., but as I checked this model can be max supported 16 gb of ram . Can you please clear this . Should need to get 12 gb ram strip ? But I don't found any .

@@deepakshinde4044 hey, maxm ram supported by laptop is 20gb ... 4 gb is in built so you can insert maximum of 16gb ram to the slot. You can go to crucial website and use the option of scan to verify this. I won't suggest you to go for 12gb ram(yes, I also didn't find any), 4gb is enough,if not maxm go for 8gb.. other than that I don't see any value added to the laptop given the specification of this laptop.
