it can be an better alternative to a "mac type of userbase", who don't game or don't use apps like blender, maya or train AI models cuz it lacks a dedicated GPU like all the other "thin and light" category laptops, and adding a GPU will increase it's weight and thickness for those who're saying bro it runs gta v, bro gta v is more than a decade old, even integrated graphics of intel/AMD can run it in ultra or high presets so saying it's the future of windows machine is kind of a hyperbole, unless they pack a good GPU within this body with decent thermals

As a person who uses rcntrl button…this copilot button really pisses me off (I’m a writer and I use the right control a lot ) they should change the right alt key to be copilot and keep the control button

I'm tempted to buy one too ..but I have seen too many reviews where SD laptops fail miserably. I would recommend to wait for another year untill software catches up to the hardware. Till then have a monthly plan to save money to get the 32Gb variant. Believe me you're gonna need it since you're a developer and also considering that the laptop costs upwards of 1.2L for a 16GB variant.

I would love to see a long-term review of this ARM machine!! as that will help us to understand the overall situation with Windows on ARM

FYI the game has anti-cheat you can't run on this machine. The developer needs to update to support this type of laptop so you can play single-player games on these ARM laptops. 🙂

price is a thing, an amd 8000 series zephyrus ( same price as m4 ) demolishes it in performance and gives 10-12+ hrs of backup ( my friend's 5900HS zephy gives the same )

ARM is the future

Sponcered and not really tested well. Battery life is just sponsored. Under full load it will only run 2hrs. Still intel and amd graphics is best. Ryzen 7840u and intel core ultra 7.

If efficiency is the game, Apple knows how to play it and have shown repeatedly they are better. You just cannot beat vertical integration with horizontal integration when it comes to optimizations like battery life, performance per watt etc. I have the Asus vivobook s15 (intel edition) and that thing cooks even when linux is run on it. Also it's pretty public information at this point -> Windows sucks. Like really. The only thing going for it is gaming and some professional software only designed to run on it due to better penetration in the market. When it comes to stability and getting things actually done, it's hard to come close to what macOS/Linux has to offer. I will take this platform seriously only if Linux can run on these machines and not some shitty spyware like Windows 11.

Not an Apple Fan and I have never owned an Apple product before. But for such a price the build quality and finish sucks!! compared to a macbook

Well it's very much overpriced. The reason is now intel ultra ai laptops are available which literally kills x elite laptops and this is the lowest sku too.

There will never be a MacBook killer. I have a MacBook for work and a gaming laptop for personal use. There's no competition to Mac since it excels at what it does from a professional use case point of view. Plus, MacBook is usually preferred by Apple Users who have been using it for years now. Nah what's the point , at this price 80% people will skip this because normal ryzen powered laptops already runs cool , gives 6-7 hrs battery , has robust x86 app support and enough for I dare say 100% of the domestic usercase . No one will buy these , inturn devs won't have any incentive to make ARM native apps and the cycle will continue

I personally wouldn't go ahead & buy one of these atleast for another 6 months.

it's just a laptop with new cpu, it's targeting a mac type of userbase who don't really have a GPU based usage like he said his usage was google docs, sheets, and premier pro at max, though it can be a better alternative to a mac with better screen, performance and display but for enthusiast for who games, or use GPU dependent apps like blender, maya or train AI model, it lacks a dedicated GPU although still spending 1.25 lakhs for using google docs is a horrendous idea to me, but yeah mac sells on that part so there's an audience

Snapdragon laptops struggle with battery life, lasting only 10-12 hours, compared to MacBook's 20-22 hours. They also have software compatibility issues and poor performance in demanding tasks like video editing and gaming. Despite high prices and heavy AI marketing, they offer little practical AI benefits. Very disappointing. They should work on price as well. And stop Ai gimmick
