I'm just writing here to thank you for your video. I repair laptops and a client came to me with a FX505DY laptop because his display was failing (horizontal lanes appearing on the display when the laptop was completely charged). I had doubts about how to put the new double-sided tape to attach the new display. Greetings from Mexico, compadre. There is another video with this same model of laptop, but there is obnoxious dubstep background music and the guy who uploaded it doesn't explain anything.

Thanks- much better option; I just watched a video a few minutes before this one where the guy completely disconnected all wiring from inside the motherboard - not too much extra work, but your method looks a lot simpler and less likely to mess something up internally.

Great! God bless you for this video! It worked out perfectly for my son's FX505DT with 120Hz screen. Funny enough the new screen (IVO: M156NVF4 R0) is way more colorful (with juicy, deep colours) and brighter then the original one (AUO: B156HAN13.0). Actually it looks like an upgrade ;D. I used Lenovo LCD panel tapes - perfect fit. Thank you so much for your help!

hey m8, first of all, you are doing an awesome job. Thanks to you I was able to disassemble the lid of my FX505DY. The only difference is that there is a lot of glue at the bottom of the bezel. however my problem is that I need to replace the back lid and the hinges. Can you comment on the stuff glued to the lid, apart from the camera? Can you comment on how to get rid of the hinges? Cheers!

Thanks! BTW should I loosen the hinges? I think the hinges are a little tight on this series. When I open the laptop lid, I sometime hear tic tic sound. I think the sound is coming from the cover on the hinge. I hear a similar sound when I press the cover on the hinge.

Hi! So I have a question, I don’t have the tools to take the screen off so I can’t see what the model number of the screen would be, without breaking the bezel. How do I figure out the model number for the screen? It’s a ASUS TUF 505DT, it’s 120hz, 8gb of Ram, and the 1650 graphics card with a Ryzen processor. I found one on Amazon, but I can’t figure out if it’s the right screen or not.

I broke my laptop screen from a drop but rather than fixing it, can I just disconnect the hinges and remove the monitor part of the laptop altogether? I’d rather remove it because I use an external monitor anyway. But I’m wondering if the laptop will let itself be used with a connection missing. Do you happen to know?
