A year back whenever I came across your videos I just tried to skip to something else, because your accent wasn't so clear to me nor was the fruit so pleasant. But as I slowly got interested in Dragon fruits owing to one Adamic variant that bears hardly 100~125 gram fruits in my rooftop garden my interest in you began awakening and now your same voice appears so melodious as if someone's pouring pure musical honey into the ears. It's nice to Learn about different varieties and their properties and a lot about dragons from your videos❤. My fascination for mangoes has been usurped by dragons. Thank you Richards for bringing in the phenomenal change.

Hi Richard. Thank you greatly for all your free content! I do have a quick question as a noob grower. I recently purchased a yellow DF cutting online, and when it arrived it was about 70cm long and a little dehydrated. I separated into 3 cuttings, left to callus for 4 days and placed in 1 inch of water. After 1 day the submerged part of the cuttings are gooey (like aloe). Is this normal, or did the cuttings not callus enough? If so, should I remove from the water and leave to dry out again? I can't seem to find any information on this. Thanks again!

Any luck growing yellow dragon fruit from fresh seed? I've had no luck so far. FYI, about 10 years ago I bought a small bag of dehydrated red dragon fruit from Trader Joe's and successfully grew multiple red dragon fruit plants from the seeds I removed from the dried fruit. The plants that grew from those seeds produced red fruit which I thought was very good. Before rejecting my claim that plants can be grown from seed, many of my backyard fruit trees were grown from seed, including my 35-year-old mango tree which my wife & I think produces the best mangos.

This video helped me in my DF soil: kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6Css6dqiNa-m8o.html You can use classic organic garden methods for fertilizing during the growing season, or you can use the floranova series as shown in GDF’s videos. As a CV grower, I am only really experienced in Vietnam White. I have an Ecuador Palora graft, Sugar Dragon, and hope to have Tricia. Only the Vietnam White has been around outside with some protection in the winter. The rest will be experiencing their first outdoors winters this year. The big thing is to find varieties known to tolerate the temperature extremes of our weather. This is why I chose Sugar Dragon and Tricia, because SD has great tolerance that even allows it to grow in the Midwest. Tricia has that film that protects it. VW is known to be tolerant, and Ecuador Palora can grow right back once established. You still may need to use sun protective cloths like burlap in the summer, and plastic wrap/Christmas lights in the winter.

@@TheBrewingMiner Cool, thanks for your reply. Good idea with the plastic tarp and the lights for winter. I do the summer screen for my peppers in Summer. Do you have a source for cuttings?

@@giovannipivirotto7079 I got most of my varieties from online stores like SpicyExotics. They’re unfortunately sold out though. Cal Poly Ponoma Nursery might have some, albeit tiny. I got my Palora from a seedling from a store-bought fruit. The Home Depot near me has been selling Polyrhizus dragonfruit. It appears to have the same protective coating as Tricia. I also have the plant and it has done well in the heatwaves. I still have to monitor its cold tolerance.

Just ate my first yellow dragon fruit. It tasted like sugar water. May have been over ripe.

I know right? It’s so beautiful I wished I could keep them fresh and look like this forever! It’s always so hard to eat them because I hate destroying their beauty! Lol
