I just had the most magical experience. Currently on exchange in Japan and I was at school doing club activities when all of a sudden I hear a euphonium from the brass club playing this song on one of the balconies. Genuinely was like being in the anime for a second

But I went and binged the whole last season of this in one sitting and between the music, the characters and their development with the story, I'm still at a loss. I started this in nearly the same situation. I had just finished Nichijou, a *fantastic* show, and didn't know what to watch next. I started watching the first episode of one who after another, but when I came across Hibike! I locked in on it and watched both seasons. Now I must watch the movies and await the probably-happening season 3

This is the anime that actually got me into band two years ago.. I am a proud alto sax player 😤 Band is really fun, thank you hibike euphonium.

I'm really craving to play the trumpet and piano again. mainly the trumpet. I loved band, the instrument, jazz and concert. except I quit going into highschool. I really wish bands are taken seriously by the students and schools in the US, until then, I'll be buying myself a trumpet and playing it for my own good 😊

@@BodeyBennett sorry it's 8 months late on the reply, but the main reason I love this anime is the relationship dynamics between Kumiko and Reina and more importantly, between Kumiko and her 2 older sister figures, Mamiko and Asuka-senpai. The last half of season 2 is just beautiful in its nuances and parallels, I often come back to watch just the last few episodes just to cry again. The feeling of seeing your senpai go beyond high school, seing them grow far and far away from you, to the uncharted waters of adulthood. Kumiko is only first year, so she has 2 years left until high school graduation. That's 2 whole years behind Asuka. It's a scary feeling, and I've been there before. The last episode of season 2 where she says "I don't want to say goodbye." I felt that. I felt that hard.

Not many shows/movies have the confidence to include scenes with nothing going on but instrumental music. Hibike Euphonium is truly special (and Liz and the Bluebird).

One of the reasons why I love this so much... is because they kept the sound effect of Asuka actually pressing the valves. The piece made me cry first time I heard it lol.

I'm glad this music has been passed down to Mayu and Kanade. Treasure this melody well as this is very important to our Kumiko. Keep this melody playing 🎼🎵🎵

Honestly... this show is so so so underrated. No one who I know has even heard of this show. This is so good.

Not even Kumiko and Asuka were very much more than good friends (actually I still don't get Asuka as a character, but I'm bad with people like that, I take even longer than Kumiko)

She's "average" looking than most of the main characters in animes, she's not as popular as Asuka, and compared to others, she's seen as just an ordinary girl. Technically a "support". But the thing is, music won't be complete with just the trumpets playing. A support is needed. That's what makes Kumiko... well, Kumiko. Truly one of the best main characters I've seen in animes. When someone asks me what's so special about her, I just tell them, "Nothing, really. She's an ordinary person like me. And I love that about her"

Praying for Kyoto Animation!!!!!!! As a wind player myself, Hibike really inspired me a lot, and I can see how dedicated KyoAni has been in terms of the making of the animation, music and the plot. I really wish I could see more Hibike movies and good music-anime in the future, please stay strong :'(

響けユーフォニアムは実際に吹奏楽団の方やユーフォ奏者の方が吹いているのを録音したのを使っていますからね☺️

I love how this piece replaces the default Ed twice, on this episode and on the last episode.

i've listened to this song every night for the past like month and a half. Edit: 18 months later and I still do it. Edit: 2 1/2 years later. Graduated today. This is surreal, I really don't know what to feel anymore. 💜

This show has wonderful storylines, fabulous characters, gorgeous animation and excellent music. It continues to be my favorite anime, and yes, this lovely solo is absolutely tear-jerking (especially for anyone who actually played Euphonium in school, as I did). Asuka wa tokubetsu desu! Asuka IS special! Yes, for being the most beautiful and complex character, Asuka is my favorite (and don't get me wrong, I like everyone in this show). Supposedly there will be 2 movies out next year (2018), I'm SO looking forward to them!

Ive rewatched this anime countless times, some are with a really good anime reactor called Teeaboo. I recommend you watch it with Him if you plan to do a rewatch marathon, his analysis is amazing, unlike other reactors who make fake stuff

Idk it’s like you can feel Asuka is letting Kumiko into her heart thru music, she’s not gonna tell her what she really feels, but she’s gonna let her listen

Why this piece always brings me to tears ? One time I listen this on repeat and for every repeat my tears keep flowing. Since that, I promise that I only listen to this when only I feel frustrated and feel like wanna cry out my emotions. But I set my playlist on shuffle, so, sometimes even after a catchy or rock, or even dancing, this song plays and I can't help but cry. No song has got me this emotional before.

I play euphonium. I watched this show after I started playing euph and it kinda makes me emotional because of how good it sounds and how they kept it so real. 👌👌👌I wish I could play like this even though I've been playing for 3 years so far not enough to get to this level.

I attempted playing this song a month before the pandemic and was able to reach the high notes✨.But, practicing is hard when your not with the band and when you don’t have motivation 😔. Corona has been sucky and I got braces so ....pain. (Btw yes I can play the right notes/rhythms but my tone quality has been sucky lately)

If you ask me, i think Asuka and Reina are the true MC of the anime. But the author want to make something different which makes a supporting character as a MC because that what Euphonium is, it is a support instrument who elevate other instrument and finally reaching harmony. That's why Asuka once told her that Kumiko is so similar to Euphonium.

This animation is just so beautiful. It's clear how much care and effort they put into this.

I'm physically unable to express my intense love for this piece. The player is amazing and really brought out the beauty of the instrument they play. Keep in mind that this is coming from a freshman euphonium player who still overblows at times lol. But this piece fills me with life, keeps me happy during hard times. Absolute masterpiece.

This song is featured on the S2 Episode 13 ending！Loved it

That tone is so calm and nice. I really love this anime and the tone of Asuka.

From time to time I come back to this video. I come back to rewatch this moment from the show. Hibike! Euphonium is really important to me, I feel seen and see myself in this anime. Every anxious thought I have, every worry, every concern about my life, my future, my relationships with others, felt understood by Kumiko and the others. I'm fragile, sometimes barely can keep myself together, I have beautiful friends and family who help me with life, I'm still trying to understand what do I want to do with my life and what it means to be alive. Music helps me. This show helps me. This solo makes my mind sit quiet, my body relax and my heart warm, maybe just as warm as the sound of Asuka's euphonium.

I've only finished the first season but I couldn't contain myself and had to watch thissss

Bro, this anime is my most favourite even after I watched it 4 years ago. I got hooked to classical music and research the instruments and even knowing the references for all the places shown in the anime. And I'm tearing rn hearing Asuka's piece again
