Yes, Framber Valdez is great at inducing double plays from opposing hitters. Especially when the opposing offense isn't that wonderful.

Yes, no dig at Valdez here, but the double plays in that game seem more to me the effect of inept hitting than great pitching. And as a Toronto fan I take no pleasure in this diagnosis. Houston's surge right now is precisely what Jays fans have been hoping for for the last two seasons. It cannot possibly happen with this season's roster and, more to the point if one is somewhat aware of the inner workings, with the current front office.

He’s matured a lot this year. Us Astros fans have dealt with a lot of adversity this year and despite losing our best player and having a full rotation on the IL we’ve played like the best time in baseball from the beginning of June to July.

Possible but unlikely. With only 75 games left to go we need 2.5 hrs allowed a game. If we kept up the pace we had in early june we'd smash the record, but now theyre barely averaging 1.5 a game over the course of a series.

Zack Pop always gives up homers in relief and Trevor Richards did the same today. Why pull Cabrera when he was pitching so well, with 2 outs and Richards gives up a homer on the second pitch. John Schneider really needs to go so this team will have the change they possibly need. Don Mattingly can't do worse. Bo needs to go coz I can't stand the pouting little baby. Trade him to a contender like you did Biggio and his game will wake up. Kirk needs to go as all he seems to do is hit into DP's coz he's too slow. Trading Moreno was the biggest mistake in years.
