    Hoping to go to Maine,, being in the north east Maine has the nearest dark skies. Staying overnight would love do some astrophotography!

    I read that there will be a comet in the daytime sky during the eclipse! Will it be bright enough to see? Maybe, but if anyone's going I would suggest researching where it'll be (I haven't yet) and to remember to take a moment to look around during totality. How cool would that be. Edit: Great video Wido!!!!

    I suggest checking theskylive.com/comets for the latest comet observations and look at observed magnitude. If comets hit below 6, you're probably able to spot it with the naked eye.

    Ah, nice! Comets are very unstable. Some are hyped and turn out to be disappointing whereas others will be unexpectedly bright.

    ⁠@@AstroForumSpaceah i understand, thanks for the reply. Ive been doing deep sky imaging for a couple years and never knew some meteor showers are caused by remains of comets hahaha you learn something new everyday i guess
