Although these things do amazingly well as shining right through some tinted windows when a shady SUV pulls up at night and you're wondering who the hell is inside. They were pretty pissed, but also visibly afraid so luckily it didn't escalate.

I have the Astrolux WP4, couple of months ago got in a situation were 5 guys wanted my moped so much, they eagerly showed the knives they probably wanted to trade for it... Got past them, but they easily kept up with me. Made them (3 mopeds) see the brighter side of life, safely got away, although barely. Local police didn't have the time to come over, so an upgrade order was placed. Hope it just gets used to point at empty spaces though. That beam is just awesome for the price. I use ultrareflective tape on my fpv drones as well, if I crash in a tree or a bush, it stands out quite well at night... perfect for other little things as well, for multiple targets, use UV, and fluorescent tags for that. Makes use of the dark to point out what was once lost.

@@LarsLarsen77 you don't need an lep to blind attackers. I carry every edc item you can think of and a high lumen, high candela flashlight is one of those items. However, I have enough spill to utilize the light for other applications as well.

That's just a thick laser pointer! 🤣 Too narrow to even be considered a thrower! Basically you've got a flashlight to everbody see you but you don't see a sh*t... Only, in the case you're a big flashlight lover who likes to collect all sorts of flashlights and you've money enough for it, in that case, I'd say: Go and buy it if you want! But I can't buy a flashlight every week neither every month, so I must choose better options, and even more when focusing on such expensive flashlights. These one (and probably the rest that use the same tech) it's a "just for fun" for wealthy pockets, which is not a bad deal at all, but definetly not for humbles! 🤣 Maybe in the next years, if I still love flashlights and I've got money enough, I will consider buying a LEP flashlight... But NOT now, thanks! 🤣

This could be very useful in large cruise or tanker ships as a flare gun replacement in an emergency situations, or for hikers in case they got lost so the SAR team can easily locate them.
