Can you explain why the webbing should go 2 times through the metal slider, before inserting in quick release buckle? I think I haven't seen kayakers doing it like that. From my experience, going once through the metal slider and then buckle, provides more than enough grip, and if you need to release the strap, you want as little resistance as possible for the webbing to slide completely out and release the O ring.

same here. the same part that came with my nrs Zen( plus it'snot removable). I too would like to know why.
