Astrakhan - The Other Way
Astrakhan sits at the bottom end of the mighty Volga river, just before it empties out into the Caspian Sea. Famous for its abundance of Caviar, both black and red, Astrakhan has been land & se trade route for centuries. Join Luc as he shows you the sights, including the Astrakhan Kremlin, the Volga embankment and a fish market. And a pub.

Have you ever been there?!
hey that's my birth city! astrakhan is brilliant and you showed it brilliantly... however it would be nice to see you do a video during the warmer seasons in astrakhan as it is much more pleasurable to see the Volga and its people when its warm. Much of the architecture has not been touched during the wars. still this was a great representation of Astrakhan!

Thank you Natasha - I admit that the majority of places in Russia look better in the summer, but I am too restless to sit around waiting for warm weather !! Please do share my video with your friends from Astrakhan - I was there 8 years before and it has improved significantly.

I WAS BORN THERE TOO! Are you adopted???
Got so excited at the mention of Yaroslavl', studied there in 2002 and loved my time in Russia. Really enjoying seeing all the places I never got around to seeing!

@@theotherway9498 I have now, I studied at Yartek too! Sad it's not there anymore. Loved the Arkhangelsk video too as it's one of my favourite places.
Caspian seas surface is itself below sea level. Because its not a sea its a lake. Called a sea bc its big. Sea level is oceans. So yeah, no danger of the downstream Caspian sea of swallowing this city
Wow, Astrakhan looks like Detroit

@@theotherway9498 many Astrakhan residents will not agree with you on that. They attack kids, old people, bikers and me when I'm walking with my dog.
