Astonishing New Resin Technique I Discovered By Accident!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
When I discovered this technique using resin and metal foil, I was astonished. It happened by accident and a most pleasant accident it was. It is so easy to do and I am surprised I had not thought about doing it before.

Hi If you cut the leaf into small squares you don't have to waist so much when you cover the dots. Thanks again for your videos
That is SO cool I said a bad word in appreciation 🙀😹😻 Especially the frog! 😻👍
Oops! Glad I’m not the only one who squishes the resin over the mould! They came out lovely!
I finally got the self levelling work top. Each time I’ve gone to order one… it had sold out. It’s not exactly cheap, so I finally treated myself to one yesterday… as a belated Christmas pressie, to myself! Im setting it up tomorrow, so watch this space.
This is great. Tip maybe? Cover the mushroom head first then use the tape to clean off the dots? That way you use less leaf.
I absolutely adore the Frog
I need this frog in my life.... and my crafting inventory .. sadly i am late to the show, its currently sold out . Ill keep looking.. Great video thanks for the laughter as well! 🐸
I love that he's just pleased as punch
Accidental discoveries ate the best!
You can a very similar design by using metallic mica on details and removing excess will isopropanol and a cotton wool cue tip . Then adding a different mica . Cheaper easier less messy and just as good results but still their very nice. I'm into free form bowls right now and people love them
So glad someone else makes big messes like me.
That frog is to die for 😊
Love the frog
Awsum idea...love love love the frog 😵😍🐸💚
Beautiful effect.....also, love the way the gold leaf flies around my house and leaves my carpet all sparkly, so fancy! Lol xx

Hahaha…that’s a good way to look at it! I turn my vacuum on and put it right next to my hands while I’m using leaf and it STILL flies all over 😂
What a great idea. The frog is fantastic!
Love, love, love the bling 🥰
WOW I love that frog, they are all beautiful.
Love the mushroom!! Now I'll need to add metal foil to my ever growing wish list !!!
That frog looks so good. I like it!
I too love the frog!! All of them are so shiny and cute. I have a lot of foil but haven't gotten to use it yet.... I'm not sure if what I have will work for this idea because it's just flakes. I'm going to try it anyway. Thank you again for the idea. Have a GREAT weekend. Stay safe, you do you, and stay crafty..👍👍🔔🛎️🦋🦋
That frog came out amazing i love him 🤩
I love the frog, and the little pot x
Lovely 😍 I really like how the frog turned out.
OMG! Thank you for sharing this exciting technique.
Pretty cool. Thank you for sharing.i hope you have a blessed week.
Kermit is stunning! The mushrooms are pretty also, thought I am not as big a fan of the crackle effect as you. The little one looks a bit like a Hershey's kiss.
Holy Moley they are stunning!! I have to do this. AND I get a bonus big laugh with the Nutella on a blanket comment. I’ll be using that one. Thanks for sharing 😂🥰
Trying this tomorrow! Thanks for the idea
LOVE that froggie!!
These are gorgeous .Also thank you for your messy moments..I'm not alone !! 😄
WOW! SHINY! WOW!! Another great Steve idea!!! I can see a whole line of shiny products coming out lol
That is beautiful!!
Love it!!! That frog is gorgeous. I may try this with my casting resin
that's a cool technique. they turned out nice. i really like the frog.
The mushrooms are so pretty! I love those colors! I really love the frog. He is beautiful!
interesting technique, LOVE the frog.
That was brilliant!! Loved how shiney they are, gotta try this!!
What a great idea! I especially love the frog! Thank you for sharing!
Off to do the frog. Had run out of ideas until I watched this.
Wow, Steve those came out so, so nicely. I love the frog, and the mushrooms came out well too. I haven't seen anyone doing that with metal leaf paper anywhere. It's a really unique finish and it makes the items look very expensive, especially the frog! God bless you and yours Steve. Have a great weekend!
The mushroom jars have been my best seller! I have a few I’ve done on my page as well. Thanks for the new trick!
I LOVE it! Thanks for sharing!!!
I discovered this myself when I started. It does stick rather well to the silicone and the results are stunning.
They are gorgeous!!!
If you mix your mica with a small amount of resin first, and then pour into the rest it’s easier to get rid of any lumps
Dude your videos are such a delight to watch. I love how happy you get about your projects, and your laugh is infectious ❤ your channel is really helping me get back into a creative mindset 🙏
So going to try this with my new lizard / gecko mould!😍😍😍
OMG they are gorgeous.
Awesome video Steve McDonald
That frog! ❤❤❤
Thank you so kindly Steve. Love all of them. Nutella to a blanket....love it! Good thing I'm not on u tube. Lol Daughter of a sailor..I would be banned forever.
Am addicted to glitter, foil and holographic cellophane, almost in that order. Have been looking for more foil to use and I think you have given me the link I have been looking for. Have so much in makeup brushes from various times people have gifted me with makeup sets, and I can't do it as they have castor oil in them and yeah, allergic. Also learning that I can have gold in pieces, just the findings can be the silver. Due to my own allergies to gold unless it's the high grade gold and not plated, I welt and/or what it touches turns bright red. So all my stuff is done in silver, plus, it doesn't take away from the piece itself, at least that's how I see it. Thank you Steve, for another great idea to work on.
I absolutely love these, awesome job. Thank you❤
So beautiful. I like how you are quite messy. Makes me feel a lot better! lol
I've done this with my coaster molds but for some reason never thought to apply it to my 3 dimensional molds! lol Quite lovely dear!
Thank you for showing your squeeze mishap and not editing it out. It helps so much in the learning process of the do's and dont's. Love you your work and style =)
The frog is gorgeous, and what a cute spotted mushroom! I made some killer coasters last year with those colored foils. Love how they shine!
❤❤❤ Steve that is awesome!! I love happy accidents and I’m so glad you shared it with us. I can’t wait to try it!!
OMG!! I LOVE THESE!
Fabulous Steve, thanks for sharing. That would be a great technique for hiding bits and pieces of resin that are leftovers as well. Also, love being part of the Facebook group! You are very generous with your time and knowledge there!
Amazing as usual! Best accident ever! Some of an artist best work is by accident
Love this! That 🐸 is ridiculously awesome! They all are, but that frog is special!
Love it, my daughter is into mushrooms she is going to love this idea
Gorgeous!! 🤩
That frog! Love it so much!!! Nicely done, Sir
Omg I need that mushroom trinket jar !!
Fabulous! Thank you.
Did you try dusting the moulds with Chameleon Powder? I love to do that, then use a dark coloured resin to make the colour pop & the result is awesome too ☺️
The frog is fantastic.
Luck’s a fortune some times. :o) Really beautiful results.
Thanks for this. I've had trouble getting the large mushroom cap to fill out to the edges.
Just love your videos and you are so funny
I think this is the best thing you’ve ever made! They are so cool!
So cute. I loved them.
Would it be possible the next time you do the frog you could give him black eyes? I think that would look nice.
They are super cute ❤
Ive never seen it either! And the Shine! Amazing!
Bless your heart, that was an awful lot of work that you put into doing those, however they came out beautifully, I loved the frog, it was so cool. BTW, don’t worry about being messy once in a while because I’ve seen much worse believe me. 😊
Wow these look amazing steve
Hi Steve love your makes iv seen Wendy from toonpish crafts do it with the snail mould, great technique, thanks for sharing ❤️ xx
Have you tried painting the mold with nail polish before pouring?
The frog is absolutely adorable
