Assembly and Converting TAMIYA´s old 1/35 TYPE 61 kit for a G.I. SAMURAI Diorama / Part 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here is Part 1 of my new Diorama Project. This time I create a G.I. SAMURAI Diorama. Follow me in building and converting TAMIYA´s old Type 61 kit into a 1/35 movie prop.
First I saw the movie 1982 a.k.a. TIME SLIP here in Europe. The german version is a strong cut version with only 100 minutes of running time. The japanese version has a running time of 139 minutes. Until now there is no Blu-Ray Disk version available. If you want to see the movie, please search on KZread for a more interesting content.
The project consists of three parts, Tank building. Figure building and painting and the construction of a set diorama.
I hope you like the result and don´t hesitate to ask me if you want more information about this content.

All the fundamentals are present and perfectly exploited, scratch is really precise... ; Oil work brings an immediate dimension to the model... The effects on the exhausts are really beautiful ! ... Congrats in sharing your talent... cause not so simple with an old kit like that.

Hi, when stretching sprue it's better not to hold it in the flame, just above it is sufficient. This avoids the black soot, fractured outer surface and less toxic fumes.

A few of those props got reused in Yongary and Ultraman. One them was also used to make the Dinosaur tank monster.

For the movie GI Samurai the Type 61 was a scratch built prop. At some points in action scenes you can see the rubber prop cannon for the tank flopping around.

Yes I know, they sampled parts for the prop from the scrapyard. If you know the details it is funny to see in the movie scenes. Overall the Type 61 Prop is a nice one. I like it.
