ive been impressed with most of Assembly, but not with this network state stuff. major dunning kruger vibes, honestly. the one-sentence kernel of it is vaguely interesting, but the rest reads like a 200 page reddit post, not a serious work of political theory. he just doesnt seem to have any real expertise in relevant areas. he also seems not to know much about urbit, which is even weirder because I thought his actual expertise was allegedly in tech. the emperors got no cloths, yall. we can do better.

expertise in a narrow area (in this case crypto tech) does not qualify you to speak with authority on all subjects. publicly pretending to be an expert in areas that are wayyy outside your actual working domain is definitely hack behavior. 🤷‍♀

He’s not wrong though, just cause you're "not with this network state stuff". This is the inevitable trajectory as far as I can see it. There are others who are funding and carrying out similar activities it’s just that Balaji has given it a label (i.e. Network State). And he appears very adept and qualified. I’m sure he’s allowed to have an opinion and share his thoughts.
