    so why high compression pistons i thought low compression pistons was best for boost?

  • @JuanMartinez-zw4tn

    @JuanMartinez-zw4tn

    4 жыл бұрын

    Connoisseur Of Cars & Tig Ol Bitties from my understanding (not a mechanic or anything) more compression would mean more air thru the exhaust = faster spool up but also be easier to get spark knock, so it would be easier with lower compression because you can replace the compression hp with boost pressure. So I think it would make more N/A power too.

  • @Seandoestech

    @Seandoestech

    4 жыл бұрын

    Connoisseur Of Cars & Tig Ol Bitties low compression for high boost with street gas, high compression with boost on e85 and a conservative and very careful tune. I’ve tried the high compression (11.5:1) with boost and the margin of error is very small before your melting pistons and or breaking rods. ( ask me how I know 😁)

    I'm really interested to see what this engine makes. Sammit just built a 1.6 that made 402 whp on a Mustang dyno with a small Garrett. I'd be lying if I said that I knew what you've done to this engine, but I'm a builder and I can't imagine this 1.6 making much more than that, even on a DynoJet. I'm not saying that it's impossible to make more than 402 at the wheels, but I don't know if the stock Mazda 1.6 is capable of much more without sleeves, seriously skrong pistons and rods, and MANY more modifications. Still, I'm poodle pumped to see her make more!
