Could you not include some of the steps where you put the washers? From the video you seem to stack the keys directly on top of each other. But at the end all the washers are gone. I guess using the washers or not might be a personal choice but I’d prefer to know which one works best right from the get go. Thank you.

Spacers are used to stay between the keys when you don't want friction between them. It is also used when there are few keys to level, so it doesn't end up thin. It's up to you to use it or not 🤝
So does the rugged version have any advantages over the regular KeySmart? I own 2 extended KeySmarts, 1 for my everyday keys and 1 for the "around-the-house" keys, and i love them. Can i use the longer screws from my extended for the rugged?

one advantage the rugged model has over the extended model is that it has a pocket clip which you can attach to your garments. as for using long screws on the rugged model, it's compatible with both the extended and rugged. i've used extension posts on my rugged, so there shouldn't be a problem.
