YNE Cell 2 I've done parkour and am climbing. No, you can't do most of these stunts. The movement itself is not bad, but the distance and weightlessness is impossible

Half right. The French Foreign Legion invented parkour. They're not entirely French, hence their name. If I remember correctly, it was a high ranking officer, who noticed the way bush people would move about when hunting. Inspired, he taught it to his men so as to evade and outmaneuver their enemy in urban environments. Not trying to steal your thunder, pretty awesome of you to make the distinction.

Doom Slayer The jumps in Unity are way more laughable. In Odyssey you get no fall damage, which is simply a game mechanic. In Unity Arno can fly 5 meters from a stamding position. Big nope

The reason the lighting looks so good is because it’s not real time, they have 4 time settings and the shadows and textures account for each

God. This makes me wanna play this again... Best parkour, best graphics and the coolest outfit imo. I just love long outfits where the tail of the coat is around the leg or feet area.

The way Arno jumps and climbs is so fluent and clean

When you get to the point, where you really understand how the system works, Unitys Porkour-Sytstem is one of the smoothest and best out of the entire series.

It's really not easy at all in this game. Based on obstacle heights and building types, some technique works more effectively than others. It rerequirs a lot of time of trial and error to make your free run smooth in this game.

This game is hated too much because of the bugs. But things like this are actually what make this game good. It's even better than Odyssey, which has the worst parkour, since it isn't about Assassin's Creed. The game also looks pretty photorealistic. Odyssey looks too saturated.

The bugs got patched tho, and every game that comes out with bugs gets bashed and low-scored. Silent Hill Downpour and Fallout 76 are perfect examples, but only Downpour was good.

Despite disliking most RPGs that are like the Witcher and it not having anything whatsoever to do with AC, Odyssey is my 2nd favourite in the series due to the incredible world and characters. Obviously 2 is the best and I'd say that Unity is strongly in 3rd

I was just saying that I loved Odyssey despite me thinking I wouldn't, considering I hated Origins and wasn't a fan of The Witcher, which Odyssey has similar type of gameplay features to. I agree that Odyssey doesn't have very good parkour, but I'm fine with it as Kassandra isn't meant to be an assassin who's skilled at parkour, she's a mercenary who is quite good at climbing. I personally think that having a parkour system like in Unity (despite it being one of the best parkour systems in gaming) would ruin the feel of the characters. Edit: Also I played Unity the year it came out and didn't experience any glitches or noticeable FPS drops

Those small extra maneuvers such as the diagonal climbs and 360 turns made this entry a satisfying parkour experience. Some of it are unrealistic but that's why we play it. We play games to do things we can't in real life. An escape.

It’s amazing that this game still holds up visually 7 years later. I just wish they invested more time in developing Unity because there was so much potential. It deserved so much more. If a game with these graphics and parkour mechanics was released this year then you wouldn’t even question it.

Thing is if you watch carefully....he actually pushed off the roof with his foot so the jump itself makes sense and is possible, but for some reason the developers slowed this animation down so it looks fucked. If they kept the fast momentum and didn’t slow him down mid air it’d actually look pretty sick. Not saying unity doesn’t have fucked jumps 😂 but this specific move is actually realistic. Just the developers wanked it

A game built for the ps4 and Xbox one having better graphics than most modern games nearly 10 years later is mind blowing.

you know, while the parkour animations in Unity were great, the most impressive thing about it was how smooth and fluid the transitions were between movements. best I've seen in any game with parkour yet

Had no bugs during my playthrough so with a clear mind i can tell you this game was on of the best looking and most innovative assasins creed to date. Shame what happened

Yep. I bought Unity long after it's released. By then, all the game breaking bugs have been patched, resulting in a smooth experience, to the point I honestly don't understand why Unity got bashed so much if I didn't looked around the internet and saw the bugs and glitches at release. 😂 It taught me valuable lesson to never buy video games at release, in modern day.

This is still my favorite AC game. The parkour was great. I loved how you got to customize Arno for the play style you wanted. There was so many different weapons, and all of them were good for a certain play style. And this games combat is by far the best out of any AC game. It eliminated the parry attack strategy that allowed you to massacre armies, and instead forces you to play smart and pick and choose your battles with enemies. Really wish Ubisoft would have stuck with this game and supported it so the online co op would have been playable.

Agreed. People complained that the combat is slow, but thats the point, we are supposed to run and vanish. Fast combat is better suited to open ground setting like ac3 and rural Roma in Brotherhood, but in urban landscape like AC1, 2, and Unity here, running feels better.

People hated it and complained about all being the same but when it went to RPG, people still complained and wanted the old formula, now look what took the fanbase, to toxic ignorant people with 30% of it being open minded, people hated unity now its full of love, I didnt like the story and modern day tho but dead Kings was decent and had a great character development for Arno(I HAD SO MANY TO EXPLAIN LOL)

Every assassins creed games deserves that insane parkour.

6 years later Unity still has one of the most detailed and impressive game worlds of this generation.

probably cause ubisoft used an older engine for doing ac origins/odyssey, them used the same engine of ac black flag.

Simply beautiful, it was a pure bliss to do parkour in Unity. Pity though it lacked everything else.

This game was made in 2014. They had something really special here.

Chase By Chase Basis is still honestly one of the best tracks I've heard. Like I know it's a long list, but damn- next to the main theme of AC, this is the one I remember the most

I think there should be an Assassins Creed game about Connor, Arno, and Edward later in their lives. Like one game dedicated to three characters, with each getting their own section. A section about Edward being an Assassin in London and investigating the shroud. A section about Connor being the Colonial Mentor. And a section about Arno being a Master Assassin in Paris and maybe him finding Shay.

This game is good if you play it on PC or Next Gen Console with 60 Fps, on the base last gen it's still pretty much unplayable, and gives constant headache because of the terrible frame rate and slower movement

@@ratamahatta5306 I suppose it's just been luck from my end, but I played on my base PS4 and I never encountered any of these glitches😅 Plus I've never been one to get all hot and bothered over stuff like "60fps" and whatnot, personally, so I suppose that adds up as to why I enjoyed it over a lot of others

I would visit here now and then just to admire Unity's parkour with the Unity's music playing in the background. Let's all unite my assassin brothers.

I’ve seen lots of videos of showing off the parkour in this game and this is by far the best. Good job

AC: Unity was an incredible game, one of the best for me, I never had bad enough issues to whinge about back at launch either.

This reminds me that mission where you had to kill a target and while escaping Arno started to climb a tree and got stuck

Arguably the greatest parkour system in the history of gaming

Anyone remember why Unity was so unique back then? Not only because of the (at that time) new parkour mechanics, but also because of the ability to play missions with friends. I hear/see no one ever talk about that one. And I find it fairly sad that it first up hasn't been really perfected and secondly hasn't been added to the newer ACs. And aswell as that.. I now see that the multiplayer in general has been somewhat abandoned.. while I have always liked it in a way.

Eh, the animation blending issues persist at all frame rates. AC3’s animation work claps AC Unity’s any day of the week.

This puts the new games to shame. I miss this parkour system and art style

Probably the last AC game I genuinely enjoyed. Loved the style they went with for the environment and assassins. It all just felt darker, bleaker, more realistic. Never had a bug with this game. Only wish the online was more fleshed out at launch.

I love the parkour, but the environment is what really made me love the game, just the fact that there's chaos, the messy environment which allows more parkour opportunities and the details of what happens when you parkour over certain things really made the parkour even better for me, Syndicate has the same parkour but the environment isn't as messy and the buildings are so far apart that they had to make the zipline thing for that problem

i remember the hype for unity. and i thought the multiplayer had so much potential. Now days AC is just a knock off version of the Witcher. doesn't even feel like AC anymore.

No yeah I completely agree on that. AC is getting worse and worse since they stopped making the storyline around the creed. However it's putting AC Odyssey in a pedestal by saying it's somewhat similar to TW3, it's just another RPG.

Heart melting perfection. Some of the moves were unbelievably new & awesome. They should have reused the parkour physics of Unity. Such a great game. Hope to see some more parkour videos.

What a great smooth parkour with realistic graphics!!!! And literally, the video was worth watching!

7 years old now still the new games are not even coming close to the bar this game set in every aspect of it. Whether be the world building, the gameplay and most importantly the PARKOUR. Story wise ac origins did a better job but still this game has now become an icon.

They should just have remaked Unity into a perfect game.

Thanks :) though keep in mind that most of these clips took several attempts before they were good enough. Most of the time my movement does not look nearly as smooth.

I must say best parkour system I have ever seen!

This for me is one of the most addicting aspects of Assassins Creed that makes me love this game, that and fighting style and combat system

Because they spent a lot of time designing the city making sure every detail was on spot. They spent time, money, resources and the game uses Photorealism to a certain extent

A big benefit it has is that it's a more compact map, Origins covers cities as well as towns, forts, desert, mountains and ocean/rivers. Since the map is more compact in Unity the development allowed them to fit more detail into the city of Paris

For people who's saying the parkour is unrealistic. It is just a slight exaggeration of parkour moves. I can name most of the parkour move Arno does like Vertical wallrun, tictac jump and wallrun, kong vault, reverse vault, stride jumps and more. The parkour is modernized and actually looks like the modern version of parkour. I do parkour and I found the parkour of AC 1 and Ezio trilogy very weird, because of how they run and how they wave their hands when jumping.

finally, someone who actually knows parkour i agree man previous ac games before unity looked like rock climbing more than anything, not to mention the damn roll they do to minimize impact. granted this is a game but cmon, that aint no parkour roll, its a summer sault, which can damage the spine. Ac 3 has undoubtedly flashy parkour vaults tho. i personally like the lazy vault. But in terms of overall parkour movement, the win goes to unity

@@rinkashimeshito2231 Funny thing is, Unity gave me a lot of parkour ideas to try out. The recent ones (or the most difficult for me) is the reverse vault and land on another platform. I found this stair way that separates 2 benches. I wanted to do a reverse vault on the fence of the stair way and land on the other bench without falling over. Took me 2 sessions to actually do lmao. Revers vault is my favorite vault so far, probably because of how stylish it is. I like combining it with flips. Kong vault is classic but I can't really use it for my flip flows

Whoa, I still remember playing AC1 when it first came out in 2007, and I was shocked at how interactive every single surface was. I spent the first 30 minutes of that game climbing the same building over and over because my previous game had been Prince of Persia Two Thrones, and as cool as that one was, it was scripted through and through. The liberty of climbing anything and jumping anywhere was so mindblowing that I didn't even mind nonexistent plot, dumb combat, and otherwise empty locations with nothing to do but hop from rooftop to rooftop. I was 12 at the time, and now as a 30yo man I get almost the same feeling playing Unity.

I finshed unity 100%, have all outfits and upgrades too And i still play it because the map of Paris and graphics are gorgeous, the parkour is the best then all other ac games (in my opinion) And i like helping noobs to finish co-op missions.

Unity actually has the best freerunning imo, the parkour is in fact most not realistic, but it makes you feel like a total badass when you make these far leaps, its such a smooth parkour system, and sometimes being unrealistic can be fun, so...it definitely had the best parkour in any AC game

Agreed. I've been playing a lot of AC games recently(most recent was Valhalla) and it has the same basic parkour that odessy and origins had. Unity I have yet to play but I love watching videos of the parkour and practically begging myself to work so I can buy it lol

I know this game had its issues, but the setting along with the best parkour in AC made it so enjoyable.

Fighting system of AC origins, Parkour system of AC unity, and the game history like AC II would make the best assasin's creed game.

Because it is. Mirage uses an updated version of the RPG parkour system. Unity used it's own unique system
