The really interesting decision on this stack is mix and matching the lord and hero choices. For instance, slaanesh warshrine units are mortis engines meaning that you could hard a Lore of shadows castor providing that to everyone. Or you could go for a Lord of Tzeench who apparently improves barrier regeneration. I don't think more aspiring champions are really needed but I feel like this arrangement of characters is maybe not the most efficient? Doing this again without the warshrine to see if the champions actually NEED healing beyond their regen would be really interesting imo. I mean the only two chaos factions getting a confederation mechanic are undivided lol. Archaon and Bel’akor are the only two getting a confed mechanic. Well apart from Wulfrik and Throgg but Norsca for some superfluous reason is a separate race when they shouldn’t be.
Legend, he didn't have all the aspiring champion buffs. That one tech he was missing at the top right gives the aspiring champions the ability to summon pink horrors. One per unit. That makes the army significantly better at dealing with flying units since they can just summon missile units whenever and wherever you need. In terms of war shrines, I would just bring one of each kind in order to get all possible buffs on the champions and spread the big targets around. You could have a Nurgle lord for the Nurgle shrine, a slaanesh wizard and tzeentch wizard for the slaanesh and tzeentch shrines respectively, an undivided wizard for the undivided shrine, and just a normal khorne shrine. Also, from what I understand, the Tzeentch shrine doesn't increase barrier replenishment, it increases spell power. Which isn't super necessary for testing a unit spam, but would make the army super strong for all the wizards that would come on the shrines. Plus I'm sure there are a bunch of defeat traits that would make the army completely undefeatable.
@DIEGhostfish

Also the summons dying close to the shrines would charge them the same as anything.
I run an Aspiring stack with a Nurgle Demon Prince (mortis engine and lore of Nurgle), a Tzeentch caster on a disk (blob magic and barrier recharge), with an Exalted Hero of Nurgle (free AoE heal), alongside a Warshrine of Nurgle (healing engine) and of Slaanesh (a second, different mortis engine). Further, the extra mortis engine really helps the clear time.

@anguskirwan5294
Жыл бұрын
Vilich doesn't get the undivided Tech tree so he only give Champions the barrier. Undivided gives them Regen, Frenzy, Poison attacks, Barrier, etc. For comparison, Vilitch special barrier regen is 8 barrier a second on these guys. Regular regen, which Undivided tech tree gives them, is 7.8 health a second. So you would have to use a regular Tzeentch Marked lord who only gives 1.6 barrier a second. So it might be better to just double stack the regen with a Nurgle Warshrine instead like what was done in this army.
Replacing 1 of the champions by a Chaos warshrine of Slaanesh could make fights way faster while also providing a 2nd unit to tank the missiles
Would love to see this with Archaon as the lord for an extra 27% weapon strength and 5% ward save, and an undivided warshrine for an extra 10% physical resist
The chaos warshrine doesn't need heal, it needs more resistances like the missile resistance aura the hero has, or one of the other warshrine variants for better physical resistance.
Take a drink every time he says “so far no casualties”
I wonder how a Tzeench chaos sorcerer would work in this scenario. Infinite barrier regen would probably be better than extra healing, plus it works when on foot too, you know, just in case you go up against 50 million gyrocopters
10/10 melee doomstack Jesus Christ, never thought legend would say that.
Honestly I find Exalted Heros of Nurgle more useful for regen than the wizards. Like just have a wizard of Tzeentch doing insane damage with that portal thing and Exalted hero of nurgle still gives the same regen buff but it's also an exalted hero
All the Aspiring Champion bonuses from Archaon/Belakors tech basically if you list them read like some MMO player ranting through all his raid buffs: "Fear" "Perfect Vigour" "Barrier" "Strider" "Poison Attack" "Frenzy" "Hellblade" "Regeneration" "Soul Hunters" "Gate of Tzeentch"

They honestly just need a cap alongside a bunch of monsters, making them a rarer but strong unit would be awesome
I am very impressed. In Warhammer 2, melee infantry just get shot before they can get close. Aspiring Champions seemed to have descent stats, but often get clobbered. The buffs they provided sometimes could be useful, but you never wanted more than 3 in an army, their main purpose was to be put with chosen and chaos warriors. Actually, I think their buffs work with Dragon Ogre Shaggoths too, but given that if Shaggoths had to face an anti-large infantry unit they could just go _through_ the enemy instead of standing and fighting, the Aspiring Champions' buffs are a moot point. The other useful thing Aspiring Champions were descent at was helping a lord or hero fight through a single enemy unit, but the Shaggoth can do that better anyways.
Fyi: -The very last Tzeench tech would give Aspiring Champions the ability to summon a Pink Horror once, which I never use but it is there as an option. -The Nurgle caster on his shrine makes it so you don't even need Fleshy Abundance and he gets Stream of Corruption for 3 mana (I have no idea if he needs his shrine for that) and he gets 2.5 back if he ascended from a Death Wizard because he keeps Life Leeching -The Nurgle Daemon Prince loses the possible healing aura and gets a Mortis Engine effect which does require him to be in melee but does stack with the Slaanesh Shrine one and a Mortis Engine itself should you get one somehow. -A Tzeench Lord would have a Barrier regen aura for 0.20% Shield per second which is way less effective HP per second then the 0.10% life regen but it is infinite. I personally don't use it so noone dies since I never reach regen cap anyway, but sometimes a single unit gets focused really hard and the regen and heal are better in that case. Not that it hurts too much to have literally one casualty in a hard fight. -The Tzeench Shrine gives up to 10% Spell Mastery and 20% ...mana regen whatever it's called again. It does not give reserves ofcourse that would be way to strong for making your caster easy to catch and focus fire, while his other option for a mount is a super fast flying disk that barely adds any hitbox. Perfectly ballanced.

Gifts of Chaos seems like a very cool ability tbh lol. Even though it's not optimal
The chaos Spawn thing DOES only affect the unit itself, as the ability has no actual range. I don't know why they did it, but all effects I've noticed which only affect the unit itself now say the same text of "Affects allies in range(max: 1)" while not having a range listed. It's just confusing.
I got a cheese add before this video
also he didnt get the gate of tzeentch tech either pink horror summons per aspiring champion is probably way better than the slaanesh upgrades besides the perfect vigour, i feel like having some ranged units to either flank or counterattack enemy ranged while the champions are blobbed up would be nicer
Slaanesh warshrine would be good as well to speed things up
Would this not be better on vilitch? He gives aoe barrier regen passively and while casting plus give him regen and he is a doom stack on his own. Also there is a tech where aspiring champions get a summon for pink horrors to.
any idea how they had 134 weapon strength pre-battle? 20 from Brutal Business campaign buff but where's the rest of the 18 coming from? Lord traits?
I remember how my slaanesh version standed near 180 kills and its passive charged to 30%.. Not to mention that on full force its still does less damage than mortis engine. Really feels like these warshrines are not worth it.

At full intensity it deals the same dmg as a mortis engine w/o needing to be in melee. 30% around 180 kills seems off tho, it was probably not close enough. As Daemons of chaos I ran a stack of 1 bloodthirster leader, 9 bloodthirsters units, 1 bloodreaper on a shrine for the army speed on the map and the shrine leadership and melee buffs, 1 plagueridden of Nurgle on rot fly for the army replenishment and magic, 1 warshrine of Nurgle and one of Slaanesh and 6 soul grinders of Khorne and I could charge the warshrines super fast to full.

Also they have way better stats, cost a bit less and have siege attacker.

@@julienpaquet966 it was surrounded by bretonian plebs who got bombed by slaanesh shard bombardment spell, 30%. Yes i was wrong about mortis engine values, whoever i cant remember a single game where this warshrine was charged to full before it was over. Also ability to deal dmg not in melee is irrelevant when consedered its speed and size, you cant keep up with routed units and you cant dodge ranged focus fire, all of this is doable with mortis
If aspiring champions turn into chaos spawn, do you get to keep the chaos spawn after the battle ends or is it typical summoned units fare?
Aspiring champions alone now are OP doomstack
Seems tough
I wonder, what happens if you fight a stack with a gyrocopter that is unbreakable if you have nothing that can shoot up? Can you essentially softlock yourself in a battle?
