As someone who's done asphalt work for basically my entire neighborhood, if you decide to do this on your own and are either struggling to get your hands on a power washer or cant get all the dirt off the pavement youre working on, dish soap and water, a clean broom, leaf blower, paver squeegee, and a basic hose works just fine in cleaning and prepping for the sealer.

I was just given an estimate to seal my double drive tomorrow. $600. Company in the neighborhood. Found out the house they were doing was 8 miles away. Just seal cracks then seal old asphalt. Dude said it would probably take about an hour. Now that's a bargain I can do without! Awesome video tutorial. Great for DIY'ers.

You can "promote" a video on youtube, i. e. pay for it to be featured. My guess is that's why it appeared in so many people's recommended list (see the other comments here). But, yeah. I also found it satisfying.

I just had some door-to-door guy quote me 800$ to seal a 2700 sq ft driveway (that was completely repaved 12 months ago, so no cracks to fill). I sent the guy on his way, and then started to look into what it would take to do it myself. It helps a lot just to have an idea ahead of time what the steps are going to be. For me, I think I will do this over 2 days. The first for the prep work, and then do the actual sealing the very next day.

@JackRussell021 if for some reason they come back, or anyone comes offering work, call the police.. these same type of people beat the sh%t out of a 80 year old woman and robbed her at gun point.. I use to do asphalt work with my grandpa before I went to the railroad. You wouldn't believe what goes on with certain sealcoaters.. not to mention fresh asphalt needs sealcoated once every 3 to 4 years
