I’ve noticed on all these videos that the shoes are never re-soled. Instead, a new piece of rubber is placed over the existing sole. Is this purely out of convenience?

I’ve always wondered about that too, maybe if he resoled then you wouldn’t have the Chanel logo at the bottom anymore? Idk

@justin The reason why we add rubber soles on the top of original leather soles is to protect the original leather soles. Unless the leather soles are usable, we try to keep the originals always. If we just replace the entire original leather soles, it seems like we produce new pair of shoes:) 👍

It‘s like all restorations: Do you want to restore something as good as you can - or as close to the original as you can? In the first case, you replace as much as you can, in the latter, you replace as little as you can.

You didn't need to hear, but is it possible to have quilted part redone or restored if it's worn really bad?
