ASMR - Whispering While Reading Ads from a 1955 Women's Weekly Magazine - Australian Accent

In this video I'm reading, #whispering & discussing a #magazine from October 1955. The magazine is called the "Women's Weekly" and I concentrate on looking at all the ads from 68 years ago. Apart from whispering, there is page turning and some interesting personal stories that come to mind while I'm looking through this magazine. This is an #asmr video, so the purpose is for relaxation. Brought to you by the @hisaustralianvoice channel.

Ah yes, the misnamed Australian Women's Weekly! In fairness, the magazine used to be issued weekly until the early 80s when they changed to monthly, although by that time everyone became familiar with the Women's Weekly and many simply knew it as "The Weekly". So they decided to keep the name. Plus they decided the Women's Monthly would sound too much like menstruation. Although interestingly the similar Woman's Day magazine has always been a misnomer as it has always been issued weekly, not daily!

Old magazines are my absolute favourite, please do more videos if you ever happen to come across more! It is interesting about the 3d. price, as I have a few australian women's weekly mags from around the 50s (i get them for a few bucks each from my local antique shop); prices were one shilling (12 d.) for each magazine back then. That might be because they had many colour ads/photos while this English one was purely black and white and therefore cheaper - very interesting video though!👍

Sir i just have to ask. As a huge fan of your channel. Do you have anyway to keep your swallows and saliva to not be picked up by the mic? It’s extremely intense.

Unfortunately no. You asked me a similar question three months ago and I sent you this reply. "Sorry that my mouth sounds are off putting. It's something that I don't do on purpose. It's a very sensitive Blue Yeti microphone, which is recommended for these type of videos. Also, the microphone is around 30cm away from my mouth when I'm recording, so I'm not whispering directly into this microphone. I've tried in the past to control these sounds, but unfortunately I can't stop them."

@@hisaustralianvoice i do believe turning the gain down on the mic will have that affect. The gain on the microphone is the sensitivity sensor.
