Hi, I’m from Canada, we currently have 7 teams in the NHL and fun fact the inception of the NHL included only 4 teams all of which were Canadian. The first expansion added the Boston Bruins (US) and eventually added a sixth team to form the original 6 (Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, New York Rangers) until 1967 when they doubled their teams in an expansion from 6 teams to 12!

Loved the video as I am a big hockey fan! To provide more context, the top 3 teams of each division makes it to the playoffs, the other 2 teams to join them are the teams with the most point in the conference(So you could potentially have 2 teams from the Metropolitan making the playoffs if they have more points then any if the teams in the atlantic outside the top 3).

@@NofrillsasmrVery cool of you to make this video, lots of fun! And yeah, 16 of the 32 teams make it (8 from each conference) and play four rounds of playoffs to get down to one winner! And since each round is a best-of-seven series, the playoffs last about two months!

The nhl has changed the way playoff seeding works recently adding two wild card spots for each conference which can make it a bit confusing. Basically the nhl playoffs consist of the top three teams from each division (Atlantic, Metropolitan, Central, Pacific) and four wild card teams. The wild card teams are decided upon by the next two best teams in each conference (Eastern, Western). And the way the seeding works is the top three teams from each division make playoffs, the team that finishes with the most points in the conference will play the 2nd wild card team (regardless of the division) in that conference. The team who is leading the opposite division of the #1 seed in the conference will play the team in the first wild card spot. From there the #2 teams play the #3 teams in each division.

Love this video!! If you make another video, maybe you could go more in-depth about the playoffs and recent winners and maybe explain more how they work… Also you could talk about seeding for playoffs and how the 2nd and 3rd seed of each division play each other and the 1st seeds play the wild card team (the 1st seed with the most points play the weaker wild card team)… Also the flyers mascot is gritty and I really like him too 😂

This is the only cup the leafs are winning any time soon 😭😭

I started paying attention to hockey this year and it's been so much fun!! Learning all the stats and terminology does take some work though, so I'm looking forward to your next video :) Also it's so weird to me that you have trouble watching the games, here in Canada they play on the national broadcast in several languages, Saturdays even have a program called Hockey Night in Canada

Leafs are my team but like you said Red Wings are a big rival. My parents tell me all the time about seeing red wings leafs in Detroit at the Joe in the 90’s.

After rewatching this hearing you mention going to Montreal. If you have a chance instead go to Vancouver. It’s just gorgeous out there you can do a lot of your ourdoors stuff. It’s like our Seattle mixed with Denver.

Florida and Carolina are the only teams in their way to a cup final so they got a decent chance . I think it depends how their goaltending and defense holds up. I like the Edmundson acquisition for them

I was really excited, seeing this new video show up today 😍 I spent the first 30 years of my life in the Detroit suburbs, and I have so many great memories of hockey and of the Red Wings. 🏒 We have had some bad seasons recently, but the Wings are finally in the playoff picture again this year!
