I'm aware it's no longer Friday. I didn't get the editing finished on time lol. HOWEVER, in saying that...I'm thinking about restarting this series but changing it to Sinister Saturday and Terrifying Tuesday? Fridays are horrendous for uploads on my channel. Just a thought! I am going with Occam's Razor on all of this. Don had a traumatic accident, he may have been losing his mind in a way, it can be quite hard when you are going through something; now imagine that in the 80s when you have to pretend it's all ok. I think that he slammed on his brakes thinking that he hit an animal. This started an unfortunate event where he wandered into the prairie, maybe he did it on purpose, maybe he didn't. It could have been an unfortunate accident. He may have been suffering some mental break, he may have been going through PTSD, and in this near accident it brought back too much for him. I don't think there is anything sinister, I think it's just sad. Mark may have had nothing to do with the whole situation. He may have gone along with Judy's calls thinking it was a prank, not knowing about the missing man. When he realized how serious it was and the fact that Don's Mom threw accusations at him; he may have gotten scared and wanted some help. As for Judy, she may have really really wanted to hear from Don and was convinced that this prank or whatever it was, was indeed him. It was cruel, if someone used Don's address book or book of numbers to do that. But people are quite cruel.

Given his lifestyle changes of minimalism after his wreck, I think he just had some weird epiphany while driving and just said, Screw it, I don’t need any of this stuff. To any average person, this obviously is very strange and doesn’t make any sense, but to someone who has experienced something traumatic that ultimately changed their entire outlook on life, it might.

What if it has something to do with his head injury during the accident? I see that someone who wanted to retrace his footsteps, it would have been technically possible. I do believe that the 3rd party was involved, even if he really wanted to to disappear. Edit: I listened to the end. This is truly missing 411 case, especially that he had a German surname!😮
