What does the root canal do??

Basically we remove the nerve (killing the tooth) so you don’t feel any pain on it and we fill up the hole where the nerve is sealing it off so no bacteria gets in. Usually when you need a rootcanal it’s because you have a big cavity and you’re in a lot of pain ! Or you hit your tooth really hard and it died and has an infection! (Hope this helps) ❤️

*I got a root canal when I was 9, the doctor was super impressed because he said sometimes the adults even made a fuss about it and I was pretty distracted and calm during it. unfortunately, 9 years later and it is giving me some pain which most likely means the treatment failed sooo time for a visit to the dentist again!*

@@patriciaclairee yes I was awake! but it isn’t as major as like other procedures where u seriously have to be put under ya know? like they numb the area ofc and make sure it’s not painful u should just feel some pressure basically, idk if other dentists r different but it should really only require u to have a bit of the area number not be put under

Root canals are the most intense and painful treatments! I had mine done recently and the dentist had to numb my mouth twice and still felt severe pain during the treatment. Rapid breathing and pain almost made me pass out lol

Root canals really don't hurt. You're numb through the whole thing. I've only had one and it was a really interesting procedure. After you've had a bad toothache, a root canal is a blessing! Lol

I had a root canal done because I had an abscess. I was wondering what can cause an abscess? I did have a cavity filled when I was younger on that same tooth.
