I watch so many hair braiding videos and often thought what it was like for Black Braiders to do white folks hair .it has to be some what irritating as straight hair is just so thin 😂

The issue is moreso the texture. Since Caucasian hair tends to be straight/silky, it's more difficult to grip for a good braid. Normally for poor grip you'd use braiding gel, but you can't use too much on Caucasian hair because it starts to look really greasy. Logan is doing a phenomenal job, making it look flawlessly easy.

Hey friend, I understand this reaction, especially since black men and women have faced overt discrimination for our cultural styles, while those who appropriate the same styles are praised or called trendy. HOWEVER, I don’t feel this is a situation of ill intent or thievery. A black woman, who is allowed to decide how she shares her own culture, decided to braid this creator’s hair. She is sitting patiently and respectfully, is not mocking the style and not claiming it as her own. To me, this felt very nostalgic and innocent, like when my friends and I used to play in each other’s hair during class. It’s being done for an ASMR video, where we can appreciate the process, and the result is not being flaunted disrespectfully. This feels like a safe space where this exchange can happen. To be honest, I used to feel the way you felt all the time, but this video helped me imagine an alternate reality where we can truly share culture without the ever-present shadow of dark histories, discrimination or trauma. To the creator, thank you for spotlighting your guest and being respectful!
