Also, watching this made me think of Jack the Ripper. He would have roamed London during the 1880's! Wonder if he's in any of the 1800s pictures and we don't even know it?

A lovely video and journey through the London which once was. Many familiar places, Mile End where I went to university for example, which look rather different today. Fascinating also to see the lone centre block of Bush House, where I once worked, missing its accompanying wings which were later additions. Thank you . . .

I find it strange looking at photos of kids in the early 1920's, they knew about ww1 but had no idea what was coming in next 20 years and they more than likely were sent to fight in ww2. And many of them are probably buried over in France. Same for photos of kids n late 1890's, who could have been killed in ww1.

The Really Old Londoners said the same sort of thing about those who ruined Even Older London before those ruiners became the Old Londoners complaining about the New Londoners ruining Old London 🤔
