I agree! A "trying on kimono" asmr video would be great! If you had that lady's voice explaining it as the other ladies helped the person into them. Nice and slow and lots of straightening the fabric slowly (of course), then just kinda "twicking" (My own word here lol) it into place, lots of little adjustments...(sigh)... it would be great! Tingles and Tingles!

I worked at a Kimono shop in Asakusa and was trained by a Kimono master. It's such a beautiful art.

To be able to work with such knowledgeable people and work with such exquisite kimono must have been a dream. I have always loved the traditions surrounding kimono and the different types of kimono that should be worn for what occasion. I have always thought that kimono worn for weddings are so beautiful. The stitching that is used to make one is an art in itself.

What is the pricepoint for this?

Oh when she spoke about sharing and respecting other cultures while mentioning Sébastien Chabal and the French embassy, it was so sweet. Japan and France have always shared a respectful and historical interest in each other culture, language and history, and particularly for each other's craftsmanship and skills. I love this.

And rightfully so! What I really love about both the French and the Japanese is that there is ample space in each culture to slow down for a moment to appreciate something beautiful, even if that beauty is ephemeral. I work with French pastry often and when I pull a puff pastry dessert out of the oven and it is golden, buttery, and perfectly laminated (which is always difficult and has come more easily only after hundreds of failures) I think, 'what an immense amount of effort for something that will be chewed up and swallowed in 2 - 3 minutes.' But, that only adds to the beauty of it. The concept of the Zen garden in Japan is the same. It takes hours and hours to make those incredible patterns in the sand, just to enjoy it for a moment before the wind or the rain comes and blows it away. These gorgeous Kimonos will only be worn a few times for a few hours over the course of a person's life, but they are worth the time and the effort.

This was an absolute delight from start to finish! The two assistants were clearly very skilled with the kimono wrapping and Abe-san nothing short of a master - I loved how she oversaw the whole process from start to finish and offered her advice and experience. I especially liked the part with Abe-san and Camsis talking about her kimono and obi. You look absolutely wonderful, Twix-san. Utterly radiant! Thank you for sharing this with us.

I would like to have that lady follow me around in life, sitting on her stool, narrating everything that happens 😭 she was so sweet and the staff was wonderful!! This video was incredible. I hope for your sake (and mine!) that you get to do more of these!! 🥰

This reminds me of my former sensei. I used to take Japanese classes at university and when our course came to an end we got a present for our sensei. In turn she invited the whole class (about 10 people at the time) out for lunch and the girls were additionally invited to come to her house and try on some kimono. It was one of the best days of my life since I had always admired the elegance and beauty of kimono and had always wanted to try one on. I neither have a great figure nor do I feel pretty, but I really raveled in childish delight when trying on my sensei's kimonos. It was an amazing experience I will never forget. I hope that one day I will get to visit Japan, wear a beautiful kimono and go to a festival. You look so beautiful in each kimono, I am happy for you that you got to experience that ^^

I adore how proud she is of her cultural heritage/history and of her own wealth of knowledge. I love how satisfied she is when she sees how quietly excited you are about fulfilling a dream. You look lovely and I'm so happy I found this video tonight.

I've heard it said that wearing some clothing is like wearing art. I've never really resonated with that statement until I watched this. Truly, the skill and beauty of every piece of this ensemble, from the craftspeople who created the garments, to the skilled women who helped put it on...just...wow.

I cried to see the finished Kimono. Clearly you feel the pride, meaning, dignity, and joy of wearing such special garments. The wise elder woman knows a lot of experience.

I love how positive and excited she is about the whole process. "You must be so excited to see the back!" I've worn a lot of traditional and traditionally styled clothing of my culture for performance in the past, and honestly it had a kind of negative connotation for me as a kid because everyone made it out to be so stressful and high-pressure, lol... so this kinda healed me.

The skill. The artistry. I can't imagine how much training goes into learning to properly fold and create the perfect kimono and I feel honored to have watched these skilled artisans working their magic.

She is so wonderfully communicative about the process. She even describes how you are feeling excitement you cant show....I imagine internally you are squealing with joy. 🥰

We are SO far from fast fashion here. I love everything about this, the tradition, the quality of the fabric, the significance, etc. Just beautiful.

It was an absolute rarity to watch the professionals putting the furisode on you! I love how the boss was supervising all the process and sharing her knowledge on furisode/kimonos and historical/cultural details connected to it. And she has a very relaxing voice too. This was exquisite ! Congratulations to all the staff for such hard work!! I was blessed to study abroad in Japan for a year and wear kimonos a few times and a hakama for my graduation ceremony, I'll never forget the feeling... I cried the first time. It's like stepping into an empowered version of oneself that one didn't know they had inside them. A mix of a princess, wise woman, poet and leader. People treat you differently too, with respect. I would wear one again in a heartbeat! It's surprisingly comfortable too. Thank you Twix sisters, you brought back all the memories!

Yes! I’ve been looking for asmr kimono videos forever! Some of my fondest moments with my Japanese grandma was of her helping me get dressed in kimono. It’s very relaxing, but those older ladies really can put some strength in securing the belts!

The green was so elegant, the pink flowers was so pretty and feminine and the blue is absolutely perfect!!

I like how your hair is in this one. I personally like the 2nd or the third one (pattern) but I do like the aqua color of the one you picked and once they finished your look I really liked it. I learned a bit about kimonos. I didn’t realize they were for special occasions (or that people still wore them but it is still part of their culture so makes sense. I hope you do another video trying out something like this. Love your spa videos but like this one I enjoy learning about new things

I usually don't make comments, but I can't describe how much pleasure I got from this video! I'm half Japanese too and I used to do tea ceremony as a kid. I used to get the most intense ASMR when the old ladies at the Japanese cultural centre in my hometown would help me wear the kimono before practice. I honestly forgot about how much I liked it. 💕

I loved Abe-san's story of visiting the French embassy and getting the approving eye from one of the high-ranking people there for her French obi. ^_^ I love the contrast between the obi and kimono. Apart, they seem like they wouldn't go together, but they complement each other so well and raise the entire garment to high art. You looked SO happy!
