@KurNorock

@@celestialrift No it isn't. Clever or not, it is still a non-human animal and as such we humans have no moral obligation to treat them one way or another. That monkey is either food to be eaten, a pest to be killed, a wild animal to ignore, or a pet to be entertained by, depending on the person interacting with it. People like to pretend like humans are somehow separate from, or outside of nature and the natural course, but we aren't. We are still animals and still part of the natural order. Humans treat animals kindly because we like to have them around. Not because we have some moral obligation to do so. That monkey would have no qualms about tearing a smaller monkey to shreds and eating it while it screams in pain. And it would not expect any random human to treat it any differently.

I find it interesting that he’s almost making mouth sounds like an asmrist.. I wonder if asmr is related to this grooming behavior in primates and that’s what tingles come from
@pambaxter2643
Жыл бұрын
It's called lip smacking and most primates make these noises, just as humans lip smack but a lot of bullsh!t follows!!! lol! But seriously, it's a way for them to communicate that they don't mean any harm and wanna be friends. Also Mommas do this to calm the young. And what we perceive as them "smiling", is actually a fear response known as a fear grimace. Yawns are not always just a yawn but a sign of aggression, females turning their backsides to dominant monkeys is a sign of respect and submission. It's amazing how many ways they communicate!
@hannahbeanies8855

Hey man, I just wanted to say that it is a blessing that we're able to tame animals(Not as housepets) but as friends and Companions if the energy is positive enough, it may not mean a lot to many here But this here is an example. it's just unexplainable in words. i subbed to you i hope you get this message! Edit: If i had a choice to choose between a Iphone or monkey, i'm gonna go with monkey~ ;p

This is not tame, he is bonded evidently and cooperative with one human. This is a minimum 20 year commitment with a very active toothy 6year old equivalent who is faster than you and will require health care like a human when elderly. Monkeys are not pets. This is a unique situation. You should look up monkey b virus and the wild macaques of Florida.

well if you ever plan to, I'm sure you have to register as someone willing to keep them safe. i think in most countries people are allowed in order to help keep the species from becoming endangered. at least that's what I read from bullock who also uploads monkey grooming asmr!

Don't do it. They never show you the videos of when the monkey bites your finger off and claws your eyes out and flings shit all over the house.
@celestialrift

@@KurNorock More than that, it's morally questionable to domesticate animals that are this clever. Dogs are an exception because they evolved alongside us.
@KurNorock
Жыл бұрын

He’s getting rid of the dead skin at the base of the nail. They do it when you get a manicure. Not sure why. Also the monkey doesn’t like the torn skin next to the nails. LOL. Monkey saliva in your bloodstream is a great way to get sick too.

I find it interesting that he’s almost making mouth sounds like an asmrist.. I wonder if asmr is related to this grooming behavior in primates and that’s what tingles come from
@pambaxter2643
@hannahbeanies8855

I think that is the prevailing theory actually! Tingles as a means of reward for participating in bonding and grooming behavior. More bonded and social = safer. The rule that has existed for millennia

I'vr heard across continents, languages, ages and genders us humans doing a sound similar to that lip smacking but with the tip of the tongue, to soothe partners, children, pets and random animals... So yeah there has to be something deeply rooted there among us primates.

Earlier today I watched a role-reverse video where the older human groomed the adult monkey. He used a fine-tooth comb thru the monkey's back hair. Then used his fingers to pretend to look for lice, scanning, scanning, scanning. Finally, he gave the monkey a back and limb massage...all while this monkey was splayed out on a mini massage table! The primate fell asleep after a few minutes of being groomed by the human.
