ASMR Math | Calculus | Soft Spoken Implicit Differentiation, Part 1

Hiya, let's try some Implicit Differentiation...relaxing Decaf ASMR Math style of course ❤️. This is a method that we can add to our toolbox to help us find derivatives. The whispering and soft spoken nature of the video is intentional and is for ASMR/relaxation, so feel free to drift off to sleep (unless you need to study!). I hope you enjoy :-)
As always, let me know if I can help you in any way or if I did something wrong haha. Take good care, and thank you for being here :-*

If you are curious about ASMR: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonom...
Personally, I find whispering, soft-speaking, and certain sounds and personalities to be soothing and relaxing and a nice change of pace. I simply want to share math in this way because I think it's more personal and allows us to focus on the task at hand without outside distractions. I also find it less intimidating and it sometimes lends well for drifting off to sleep ;) My channel is definitely relatively low-tech, intentionally so, because I want the star of the show to be the math and my loving energy for you :) That said, there are tons of incredibly talented ASMR-tists on youtube who can layer all kinds of sounds and do fun roleplays, etc. so you should check this community out!
If you are curious about my background:
I have a Bachelor's Degree in math from MIT. My passion lies in discovering and embracing our infinite potential and math happens to be my favorite "language" for that. We all can use some inspiration and support from time to time, through the highs and lows of life. I want to encourage a non-competitive, non-judgmental, self-empowering space here. I also believe that the way in which we need help and support varies, whether we need guidance, accountability, or just a friend to hang out with while we learn through trial and error. I hope to capture a bit of everything. Really, this channel is my creative space to explore and grow myself, and share this little love of mine. Maybe along the way, I can help you out with math, and I can do much-needed review and learning myself! Having more patience, an ever-loving spirit, and courage to be authentically me are lifelong goals. Thanks for joining me & I hope we can share much love and Light :-*

Oh my gosh! Marjie, you rock! I was watching a ton of Khan Academy videos for calculus and then I started to lose focus and the urge to continue because my brain saw the more complicated problems and shouted "I'm BORRRRRED!" I then wanted to watch some ASMR but knew it would ultimately lead to me being off task for the rest of the night. It's so difficult for me to find educational ASMR videos that cater to me, but out of hope I googled "soft spoken calculus" in hopes of possibly finding a video about specifically implicit differentiation and this video was the first result! I cannot express how much joy I felt while watching this video. Your style is my favorite type of ASMR. It doesn't really feel intentional, which I love. It feels totally natural. I love seeing the person as well because it feels more personal and cozy and it holds my attention more than just seeing "pen" and "paper" while a voice speaks to me. As a molecular biology major with ADHD and hypersomnia, it's been incredibly difficult for me to watch videos my professors post because they are made in that type of format and I end up falling asleep often, then inevitably falling behind on my work. You are also great at explaining your thought process! I really appreciated your explanation of why you must multiply 3y^2 by dy/dx. I had a math professor once who wasn't great, but he told me one thing that I believe is so true: "Math is all about tricks." It really is! Math is such a tricky language, but once you see the silliness of the tricks, you feel like a superhero! You have been so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much, Marjie!

Aww Brandi you have blessed and inspired me with your message. Thank you girl! I'm really glad this video could be helpful for you (it's totally embarrassing to look back at old stuff lol). I have an entire asmr Calculus playlist if that's something you think you'd enjoy :) That's so awesome that you decided to actually look up an alternative when what you were getting wasn't working for you...with that attitude I have no doubt that you will be successful in whatever you pursue, molecular bio and beyond! Wishing you all the best and hope you'll hang out here in our little math corner often, for learning or sleep (you can also feel free to let me know what math lessons you are specifically reviewing, as I often draw inspiration from people around here).

oh my goodness, thank you SO MUCH for these! I've been struggling with the way my teacher explained this; this video explained the how and why of implicit differentiation very well.

I like educational ASMR, but I'm actually gonna refer to this when I decide to retake my calc class for college lol. Might as well listen to it asmr style.

Do you remember the previous comment I made on this video? I wasn't kidding. Chain rule, implicit differentiation, and logarithm differentiation everywhere Must be what special hell looks like.

Great video, as always! I noticed it doesn’t seem to be identified as ASMR by the algorithm…not sure if there’s anything you, or we, your fans, can do to help the algorithm out…if we say ASMR a bunch of times maybe it will figure it out? ASMR, ASMR, ASMR, ASMRRRRR.
