German here. Regarding the toilet paper thing you mentioned. In stores you can of course buy different kinds of toilet paper: from 1 to up to 4 layers. In many public toilets however they use 1 or 2 layer toilet paper, mostly also out of recycled paper (mainly to save costs), so these ones have the consistency of paper towls. So if you are a tourist, do a lot of sight seeing and nearly only visit public places, you might get the perception that all toilet paper in Germany is like that.

4-ply?!!! Now THAT'S living in the land of luxury! So, inquiring minds want to know: is 4-ply like the 2-ply in the US? Most of the time 2-ply TP is softer and more absorbent than 1-ply. That's the extent of our toilet paper technology. The less expensive 1-ply rolls can either be like trying to wipe with notebook paper (not absorbent enough 😖) or trying to wipe with something so thin that your fingers stick through it 😳! 😂--Personally, I go for the softest high-absorbency toilet paper, followed by moist-wipes, then blot dry with a little more TP. Anything less? Just barbaric and unthinkable!

  • @TheAndyLP24

@@Gaian_Born I have never been to the US so I cannot really tell for sure but in my opinion 4 layer toilet paper (or 4-ply as you call it (didn't know that was the correct term)) is really, really soft but I do not really feel a differenece to 3-ply toilet paper. But the 1-ply toilet paper you'll have in many public places in Germany is most of the time even thinner than note book paper and feels really rough. Don't know if that information helped you...

I'm from Germany. A good video. Only corrections on my part: Germany is a representative democracy. The head of state is called Bundespräsident. Currently it is Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). The head of government is called Bundeskanzler. Currently it is Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). She leads a government of Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU).

As Christmas is coming close, I was wondering if you could do a video on Australian Christmas traditions (what you do, the meals you eat etc). I think it's really interesting for us from the northern hemisphere as Christmas is in winter for us, whereas for you it is in summer.

The whole country is squeezed. The Treaty after WW1, made a corridor between Germany, into Germany and East Prussia, then after WW2 they lost East Prussia and for a long time Germany was East and West Germany. So in some ways it isn’t because of legal and world documents, but is based off of historical borders.
