Here's a longer version as requested. I rummage while intermittently playing with an item from by bag. At 40:50 I clean my makeup tools.

Who would have thought years and years ago, before youtube, that these types of videos would be a thing? Seriously. Its so weird, unusual. I never knew about asmr, I just KNEW I secretly loved hearing noises like this. I would secretly pay extra attention when someone was going through their purses, or a drawer, or whatever. One time my 1st grade teacher was taking scotch tape off of something, and I loved the crinkling sounds it made. I am 48 now and still remember that day. This is so weird that we flock to these videos and enjoy them. Why? I want to know why..... It's so odd, don't you think?

Yes, I totally agree! I can remover when I was about 5 years old and loving watching my mom clean out her purse, apply her makeup, type on our old keyboard , play with my hair etc. I would become mesmerized and so relaxed but never realized it was ASMR.

My first memory of asmr (even tho it wasnt even considered a thing yet) was in grade school. Like 1st grade. I would zone out and watch my neighbors doing their assignments and the sound of the pencil on the paper on top of a wooden desk really got to me. Or when someone was rummaging thru their pencil box... it sent shivers to my scalp and down my spine and I would get goosebumps. It wasn't until I was 34ish (I'm 37 now) that I found these videos and realized it was a thing. I'm suffering from a bad case of tingle immunity right now. I miss my tingles!!!!

@@stephaniegarcia-moores6044 it is relaxing even w/o tingles, but yes - you can miss 'em :D My first memory is when my older brother would study near my bed (we had a very small apartment) while I tried to sleep. It calmed me so much, that it was not me who needed to study :D

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR NOT TAPPING OR TALKING. I have Misophonia and you have no idea how hard it is for me to find decent ASMR that I can handle without getting angry lol This was lovely! Thank you.

Siirkis why do you think we have both asmr and misophonia? There are sounds that make me insane, like lips smacking, tongue spit noises, eating noises, but these sounds are heavenly. Do you know what makes some unbearable and some lovely? I have never understood why and it makes me feel crazy and insane and want to go off the deep end sometimes. Any insight? Xoxo.

@@lindaymohegan3529 In all honesty, I'm not totally sure! It's tricky. Scientists are still trying to find an answer. But from what I've read, Misophonia has something to do with brain abnormality. Hardwiring the brain to produce excessive emotional responses like anger, frustration, etc. Certain sounds trigger and catch the attention of different parts of our brain because there is abnormal connectivity to the amygdala. (Receives input like memory and attention). Sounds with repetitive, extremely high or low frequencies are more likely to send signals to the amygdala. So while some noises sound lovely, other sounds can be irritating. Not sure if this answers your question, or if this is even correct but that's my take on it! :)
