I’m American and I can tell you that this is pretty spot on! It all depends on what part of the country you live in, though. This is VERY east coast northern… hot dogs, pizza, ice cream, popcorn, pancakes, Hershey’s, wings. I live Maryland and this kind of food is after thought pool party food. When it’s summer in the mid Atlantic states- blue crab meat are all the advertisements we’re looking for!

Neo looks like a generic Oreo. I have never seen them here. Looks like cookies and cream ice cream. Hershey syrup is so good on ice cream or chocolate milk. Did they call marshmallows, bbq marshmallows? I have never heard of a BBQ marshmallow! Haha I think we are more about peanut butter than Nutella. I always think USA flavors are hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salads, Cole slaw, macaroni salads, baked beans, apple pies, chocolate chip cookies, lemonade. It was so fun seeing what is American in other countries!!! Thank you Kate!!!!

Yeah this is fairly accurate for the USA as far as junk food goes. Which is so sad because nearly all of it is processed or otherwise deep fried. You see why we have such an epidemic with heart disease (not just us but yeah it's bad here, one of the leading causes of deaths in the states). Hersheys syrup isn't the best but girl the Hershey kisses are perfect 😍. Our chocolate in the states is awful, with the exception of independently owned shops. It's too sugary so you don't get the balance of flavors. Marshmallow fluff is really gross unless you use it to make fudge. It's perfect for fudge ! Your gum chewing is one of the few I can tolerate. I love your videos and you're so relaxing

It's so funny to see what other countries call "American," especially with graphic labeling that clearly isn't American in style but kind of...wishes it were? Or is like the curious generic labeling you'd see on packages in a Dollar Store. "Ice Cream Peanut" is just...what?? "Squeezy Cheese Sauce," hysterical! Thanks for sharing it. I always love your catalogue browsings. :D

American food= deep fried and/or sugary? Yep, seems about right 🥲 I don’t really like the Hershey’s syrup except it does make yummy chocolate milk. We call candy floss “cotton candy” so it is like edible cotton lol And as far as root beer goes, my husband really likes the Virgil’s. I think it is made with real sugar instead of corn syrup. I prefer IBC or Barq’s root beer personally, on the occasions I have any. I’m not a big soda fan. And cheddar popcorn is my favorite 😂 sometimes you can find cheddar and caramel popcorn mixes so you get the sweet and savory together.

It seems to me the foods advertised are more geared towards what we would use at cookouts and picnics during the upcoming Fourth of July weekend. In that respect, I think they did a fairly accurate job. Burgers and hotdogs, fried foods, ice cream, and even the "cheese" would see a lot of use over the next few days! I agree that Hershey's is a bit lacking anymore. I will certainly eat it from time to time. Many other mass produced chocolates in the USA have a similar waxy consistency. Smaller, local companies make far superior products. One big reason for this is the primary ingredient in most smaller USA and European chocolates is cream, while the primary ingredient in major USA chocolates is sugar. European chocolates tend to be produced in smaller batches and spend less time on the shelves so the cream doesn't get the chance to spoil. Here in the USA, government regulations require a substantial shelf life as the chocolates are produced by the millions and shipped all over the world. They have an average shelf life of around two years. Honestly, to me anyway, many of them taste like I just ate a chocolate flavored candle. Anyway, sounds like your Lidl is ready for some summer fun!
