Yes there is a shared pool, so if multiple people are going for the same build, you're competing for the same resources. When someone is knocked out, or sells their minions, the minions they had return to the pool

Yes the pool of cards is limited. So if all the other players are going for the same thing you do, you are less likely to find specific cards. And also you should play your triples after you level up if you have the chance, so it is more likely you find a powerful card.
